Purge old QDF-BACKUP files

I see numerous QDF-BACKUP files in Quicken/BACKUP directory. Do they automatically get purged or do I need to delete them?

If you have your backup preferences set to retain a specific number of backup files, then Quicken should delete any backups in excess of that number. But it doesn't always do that, especially when a backup file is created when updating Quicken from within Quicken. The simple answer is if the backup files are ones that you feel you no longer need, you can simply delete them.(QW Premier Subscription: R31.20 on Windows 10)5 -

The automatic backups in the BACKUP directory will have a date & time in the file name. The purging only applies to the automatic backups that follow the rules in preferences. If they don't have a date & time or only a date, they are manual backups and will not be purged by the rules in preferences.
