What "Trend Button" are you talking about?  In what context?
And, what Q product are you running and what BUILD of that product?  Do HELP, About Quicken for this info.

In one of these sessions it mentioned using the Trend button or One Step Trend button. I am using ver. R31.8, Build 27.1.31.8

Can you provide a link to that thread, so that we understand what you're referencing?
And what Q PRODUCT are you running?  Not all features exist in all products.

Sorry but I can't find the link anymore. May have been for an older version of Quicken. I am using Quicken Premier. My real question, to begin with, was how to change from a Bar graph to a Line graph so that I can see my past spending history for one category such as Groceries

Security Detail View, magnifying glass appears and disappears within seconds. How do I fix this problem?

I found this in the Quicken help menu. Notice: "one-click trend graphs"
"View a trend graph for expenses by category or payee
For the Spending by Payee and Spending by Category report or graph, as well as the itemized payees and Itemized Categories reports, Quicken includes one-click trend graphs, so you can quickly and easily see your average monthly spending for each category or payee for the past year."

WHY. WHY. WHY can't I view the magnifying window for more than a split second????? I can't read what's in the window so I have to repeatedly refocus it and eventually see it!!!!!

What setting do you have for Date Range, and what setting for Column?
Because it seems to be working for me ... now that I know about it.

[Corrected] Unfortunately the formats of Quicken's graphs are not changeable.

However you can export the data to Excel and plot it there

Thanks very much for your help. I had to change the "Column" from None to Month to get it to display this way. A million little things to do.
