how to delete zzz-account linked to wrong account that is closed

When USAA was having problems I somehow ended up with zzz-USAA linked to a closed Bank of America account. Because it is closed I can't delete it. How can I get rid of this? My USAA accounts are all updating fine it's just this bad link.

    Hello @mardis2003

Thank you for reaching out on the community and telling us about your issue. I do apologize for the issue you're having. That is quite odd that it ended up with one of your closed accounts. I think in this case the first thing we can try is to  is a validate and repair to see if that might help with the false link that you're experiencing, I'll leave steps down below. You'll find it on the third step down below.

Once you get a chance let us know how it works. If it doesn't work let us know and we'll see what we can do next.

    Thanks,

    Quicken Francisco

This is how it looks in online center. As you see the delete is greyed out.

Try this in the Online Center hold down shift + F3 and click on Contact Info.
Fine the zzz-... entry and select it and then Delete.

Well it now says I have to disable all accounts before deleting. The only account is closed and I can't make change to online.

Yeah I was afraid of that.  Your caught in a circular loop.  Maybe Quicken Support has someway out of it (I doubt it).

In the meantime you might want to vote for this idea.

You might be able to work around it by-
    1.  Creating a new manual checking account.
    2. Then move all of the transactions from the closed BoA account to the new manual account; they can be moved in bulk.
    3. Then delete the problem BoA account with no transactions using Edit Account Details.
    4. Then you can use Online Center Ctrl+F3 Contact Info to delete the reference to the zzz FI.  Ideally it auto deletes if no accounts are associated with it, but it may not since it is screwed up.

You can Close or otherwise edit the new account details as you wish.

adding- make a backup file copy first in case it goes badly and you need to revert.

That's what I ended up doing. Created a manual account and moved all the transactions then deleted the old account. Thanks for your help.
