Home & Business vs Starter and Deluxe

We have used Quicken Home & Business for a few years but only used it for bank accounts and credit cards, not business. We are looking to upgrade from the 2017 version. Can we open our datafile from Home & Business in the Starter or Deluxe version?

Yes, though I would suggest the Deluxe version since Starter becomes Read Only if your subscription expires and doesn't support investment accounts. Shop around a 3rd party retailers for a better price.

Also note that Starter doesn't support investments, of any kind.

The lack of supporting investment accounts is actually well documented on the "Compare" table on quicken.com.
What isn't well documented is all the other restrictions, like no tags in reports, no annual budget, not asset/loan accounts, no way to turn off tabs, no customizing of the Home tab, no tax planner, no savings goals, no Lifetime Planner, ...

The list goes on and on.

The only people that should be considering "Starter" are in fact just that someone just starting out and only has a checking and savings account.
