New computer, problems trying to install Quicken 2016

Longtime Quicken user (early 90's maybe?), still using 2016 Windows version as it does all I need and I don't need online features. But my computer crashed, got a new one with W10 and loaded the software from the disc, which went fine. But it will not open my backed up data file. It goes to the Intuit log-in screen which does not recognize my log in and password and will not go to "change my password". I just want to use the software, I don't want to log in -- is there no way to do this? I feel like 25 years of my finances are being held hostage - what can I do? Please help!

    If you have an older version, One of the SuperUsers has posted the update patches for older versions (2000 and newer) of Quicken

    Don't know if this note will help with 2016.  Quicken 2017 started out using a Intuit ID, not a Quicken ID.  Any patch version earlier than R11 is going to be trying to log into the Intuit server which no longer exists.

    I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

    After you install Quicken 2016, I suggest you download and apply the Quicken 2016 R19.5 Mondo patch at: http://www.quicknperlwiz.com/quicken-patches-us.html

    Hello everyone, what a great community with lots of suggestions. I tried re-installing the software with no internet, but the same thing happens -- it asks for Intuit password. I tried downloading and installing the patch R19.5 but got an error message because MSVCP120.dll cannot be found. Any other suggestions? Thanks again, you are all so much more knowledgeable than I about these things.

    If you haven't already, I suggest you download and install the appropriate Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package (aka MSVCP120.dll): https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/update-for-visual-c-2013-and-visual-c-redistributable-package-18d278e8-1c79-2630-e8ae-e9f4679b2393

    I downloaded the Visual patch, reinstalled the R19.5 patch and then uninstalled and reinstalled Quicken, but nothing works. It always goes back to the sign in screen, which I can't get past with my old log in.
    I think I might have to give in and subscribe, which is infuriating. Almost 30 years of family finances down the drain if I don't. Ugh! Thanks for the suggestions though.

    After you installed the Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable Package, you should be able to apply the Quicken 2016 R19.5 Mondo patch over the installed Quicken 2016.   The Mondo patch should change the prompt for the Intuit ID to a prompt for the Quicken ID.

    As it sounds as if you've 
    thoroughly mangled the process, I suggest you perform a manual clean uninstall.  If you haven’t already, you may want to review: https://www.quicken.com/support/using-qcleanui-uninstall-quicken 
    After you've performed the manual clean uninstall, 
     install Quicken 2016 while disconnected from the internet and apply of Quicken 2016 R19.5 Mondo patch.
