why do positive budget numbers show negative ?

When I enter a positive income budget number for a category and the actual is zero, the balance becomes negative. if should be positive

    If you look at the column headers it will make more sense.



    So, for the 200 you budgeted that you would get $200, you actually got $0.  $0 - $200 = -$200.
    Notice for the second it is $3198 - $3198 = $0.

    The balance is the difference between what you predicted (the budget) and what actually happened.
    Note that if you are looking at future values the "Actual" will always be zero unless you have a reminder(s) for that category and select to show reminders.

    P.S. for the balance to be positive 200, you had to predict that you would get $0 and you actually got $200.

    The columns in your screenshot are Budget, Actual, and Balance.

    If you budgeted $200 in income and the actual is $0, you have received $200 less than you budgeted and you are $200 worse off, thus the negative balance.
