Can someone point me to how to set up bill Reminders?

As I understand, a bill reminder can be used to tell you when a bill is coming up so that you can schedule it in billpay. At least that is the way i think it works and thats how i would like to use it. Is there a better way to do this?

You are right about Reminders. In addition to scheduling in billpay, you can use it as a reminder for bills that are paid automatically or bills you pay by check.

To set one up, go to the Bills & Income tab and at the top right, click on Manage Manual bills and Income, or go to Tools > Manage bill & income reminders

There are a few ways we may set up a manual bill reminder.  One way is to right click on a transaction entered in the register for the bill and select Add reminderWith this approach, Quicken uses the selected transaction as a template for the reminder.   If you haven't already, you may want to review: https://help.quicken.com/display/WIN/About+reminders

Regarding billpay, there are multiple ways of paying bills from within Quicken so...

If you're paying bills using the online bill payment services of your bank, you may want to review: https://help.quicken.com/display/WIN/Paying+bills+online

If you're paying your bills with Quick Pay or Check Pay, you may want to review: https://help.quicken.com/display/WIN/About+Quicken+Bill+Manager+with+Quick+Pay+and+Check+Pay

If you want to pay bills by check, you may want to review: https://help.quicken.com/display/WIN/Paying+bills+by+check

Note:  A payment method may be associated with a bill reminder and the bill reminder may be automated.

We choose not to pay our bills from within Quicken.  We pay most of our bills using the biller's website with a cash back credit card or a checking account number.  The remaining bills we pay using a free bill pay service at a financial institution.  We very rarely write paper checks.  We do use bill reminders to project balances, enter the transactions, remind us to pull statements, etc..

As I said, there are many ways we may set up a manual bill reminder.  If you don't want to use a transaction as a template, you may press Ctrl + J and select Add > Bill > Manual BillIf you want to edit an existing reminder, you may press Ctrl + J, select the reminder and Edit.
