I have Windows 7. Since last October, 2022, Quicken does not download from my Wells Fargo account.

I have asked my bank and various people at Quicken. I cannot seem to get a direct answer and all the help I have gotten does not work. Someone said I need to upgrade to Windows 11. Is this the only thing that I can do to get the downloading to start again? If not, what then?

    Quicken is no longer supported on Win7.  That is the issue. (and there are other posts stating that Wells will not support WIn8)

    If it was working and just stopped, it would not be related to Windows …

    You do not necessarily need upgrade to Win11, you can and possibly should go to Win10. If you are running a PC with Win7, there is a 99.99999% chance it will not even install Win11 unless you have the technical knowledge to get around Microsoft's barriers. You should be able to upgrade your existing system to Win10 and I believe MS is still offering that option for free. The only other option would be to purchase a new PC.

    It would be related to Windows if WELLS changed something on their servers! (and there is a thread somewhere that is exactly what occured)

     Windows 8, 8.1, 10, and 11 support TLS 1.2 and no changes will be necessary to your system. Windows 7 supports TLS 1.2, but is disabled by default, and may require additional steps to enable it…

    For what it's worth, I'm not surprised that this is happening with Windows 7.  Secure connections require that the certificates be updated periodically.  That all stops when Microsoft stops sending security updates.

    But still would like to see what the error message is.  At times people have reported problems with Wells Fargo and it is something else wrong.  And I note that in the thread that @Ps56k2 posted that nothing there was actually proven/resolved.

    FYI .. if it is the TLS issue, here are some steps. 

    To enable TLS 1.2 support on Windows 7, you will need to perform the following steps: (You can also read more about this from Microsoft.)

    • Have Service Pack 1 installed.
    • Have the Windows Update KB3140245 installed. (Download from Microsoft Catalog.)
    • Update the registry. (Download the Microsoft Easy Fix).
