Lots of crashes - want to create new Quicken file and importing data

I didn't know what category to put this under so I chose this one. I have been a Quicken user since the mid 1980's. Quicken has had a lot of crashes when I am using One Step Update. I thought I read a few people state that they started a new file and the issues went away or drastically reduced. Can you create a new file and import the data from another Quicken file? I have quite a few accounts within Quicken, probably 25-30 accounts, including investment accounts. Has anyone had any experience with this?

    You could try a .QXF (X in the middle) export, create the new file and import the .QXF file into it.. This is all on the File menu.

    The only thing you will lose is your time if it doesn't work well enough. Your current data file will not be harmed in any way.

    Note thta a .QXF import will not import investment transactions. If you want to try QIF instead here is some help on that:

    But before any of that I would first try: Copy or Backup File → Create a copy or template

    This might be enough to clean up some problems. Note that it will disconnect all online services, so you will have to reconnect them in that new data file.
