NEW! 10/23/23 Unable to open data file/file password not working in Quicken for Windows
Customers are reporting that their data file passwords are not working, or that they're unable to open files. We are investigating the root cause of this issue, but in the meantime, If you are impacted by this issue, we recommend making sure that your Quicken file is directly on the C drive and not synched with any cloud backup service, such as One Drive.
If Quicken is still not accepting your data file password after you have moved the file, you should be able to bypass the issue by either removing the data file password (you can do this by going through the data file password reset process and opting not to put a password back on the file) or by restoring a backup of your file from before the issue started.
