Account is showing two different totals in different sections of Quicken

The Net Worth total at the bottom of all accounts does not match the total in the Net Worth by Assets and Liabilities section. They are typically the same. The total at the bottom of the "All Accounts" section is correct. There is a single investment account that is showing a different total when I drill down in the Assets and Liabilities section then what is shown in the all accounts section.

Any thoughts?

Maybe you have a security price or transaction dated in the future? Check the price history.

I'm staying on Quicken 2013 Premier for Windows.

Both good suggestions, but I have tried unselecting and reselecting the account in question. The most recent transaction was from the 24th. There are no future transactions. The account value is still different in the two locations.

@jreck1957 have you tried doing a validate or super validate?

    Validate:

    1. Go to File in Menu Bar
    2. Click Validate and Repair File...
    3. ChecK Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log

    Super Validate:

    1. Go to File in Menu Bar
    2. Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
    3. Check Super Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log

After each validate completes, check if the Net Worth balances agree.

Otherwise, when you drill down, go a bit further and select "Account detail" on the Display tab. Then, are you able to find a security that might explain the difference?

You weren't asked about "future dated transactions" … but rather about "future dated security quotes".

Unselecting and reselecting the account is different from what I had suggested doing. What I'd suggested doing was to make sure all hidden securities are shown and then follow that by selecting all securities.

I have found that Quicken often will not update Net Worth by Assets & Liabilities with new securities when they are added to Quicken. So whenever I see that the Net Worth by Assets & Liabilities is not in agreement with what is shown at the bottom of the Account Bar on the left, I will go back to the customization and select "all securities", again. Almost always that brings the two into agreement with each other, again.

In the past I also had to sometimes make sure that all accounts, all categories and all tags are also selected because sometimes they would not be automatically added to this Net Worth by Assets & Liabilities. If you are still seeing a mismatch on the net worth numbers you might want to do this, as well. (Note: haven't seen these as being an issue for some time now.)

One other suggestion: The net worth on the left at the bottom of the Account Bar will not include any accounts that are displayed as Separate. Make sure that your customization does not have the box checked to include Show Separate Accounts.

Thank You! That suggestion brought the two back into agreement.

In the "Net Worth by "Assets and Liabilities" section, in the "Customize this Graph" option, click the "Securities" tab and then select "Include All Securities".
