updating transactions freezing Quicken

When I attempt to update my credit card and banking transactions, the update gets stuck and Quicken is completely frozen. Need to kill the process using Windows Task Manager.

Anyone else having this problem today?

Anyone know a way to kill the update without having to kill/restart Quicken itself? The update Windows' 'X' should close the update window, but it's unresponsive.

    Hello @MichaelWeis,

If you haven't already, I suggest you try signing out of your data file completely and then signing back in to refresh the registration token for your Online Connected Services. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.

    1. Navigate to Edit
    2. Preferences...
    3. Quicken ID & Cloud accounts
    4. Click Sign in as a different user (or it might say Sign in using a different Quicken ID)
    5. Follow the prompts to Sign Out
    6. Sign back in using your Quicken ID (email) and password

Once that is done, see if the freezing issue still occurs.

Let us know how it goes!

I deactivated one account and attempted to reconnect and Q froze again

When I first contacted Q for help, I received responses from 3 Q support people.

Now, I'm not getting replies from anyone!

The first troubleshooting step I would try is to Reset all of your online accounts.

Waited 2 hours; did nothing…problem gone.

@MichaelWeis thanks for the update! Glad to hear the issue has been resolved.

Please be aware that the Community is not the same as contacting chat support. It is an online forum that is primarily user-to-user based with only a handful of Quicken moderators like myself. Therefore, responses will not always be immediate.

    Thank you!

Please be aware that I was posting the comment (which reflected several contacts I had with support) for the benefit of the community.

Also, noting that the problem went away. [Removed - Speculation]

I've tried these solutions but nothing helps. I havent seen anything from Quicken to resolve this.
