I am having the same issue that was posted below, but does not look like there was any solution & the post is now closed, so I wanted to try again & see if anyone can help;

I recently updated from windows 10 to 11. After the update I'm having an issue with graphs.
Before I go on, here's my setup. I run windows 11 on a laptop with an external monitor. The external monitor is my main screen and the laptop is my secondary screen. The Quicken window is typically displayed on my external monitor.
Here's the issue. When I show a graph on my main screen, like my net worth over time, and I move the mouse pointer over a bar to view its value, the value is displayed on the laptop monitor instead of where the mouse is. This wasn't an issue with windows 10.
If I move the Quicken windows over to my laptop and I move the mouse pointer over a bar, no value is displayed. I've also tried unplugging the external monitor with the same result.
I have reported the problem through Quicken but I haven't heard back.

Here are my specific details; quicken classic deluxe, been using quicken for many years in the following configuration on Windows 10 with no issues whatsoever; my laptop (Dell Precision 7760 workstation/laptop, 17.3" screen) as the main monitor (1), and on either side of that, I have an additional monitor (both 24" AOC monitors, both connected to the laptop via DellDock D3100 with HDMI connections), monitor to the right of the laptop is monitor 2, and the monitor to the left of the laptop is monitor 3.

Ever since the update to windows 11, the totals for graphs (when I hover my mouse over them) are showing on a different screen. I always run quicken on the main laptop (1) but since the upgrade, if I hover my mouse over my income/expense bar graph, the totals show on monitor 3. I have checked all graphics drivers, as well as the dock station drivers, mouse drivers & all are up to date. The scale for all 3 match at 100%, the resolution for all 3 are at the recommended 1920 x 1080. I tried moving quicken to monitor 2 (on the right of the laptop), and the numbers show on the laptop (1) . . . I then moved quicken to monitor 3 (left of the laptop), and the numbers didn't show up at all.

I uninstalled quicken & re-installed, same issues; I even did a repair install for windows 11, but same issues. This in ONLY happening on quicken, nothing else, and since it appears that others are having a similar issue, it is probably a quicken issue. Any thoughts/suggestions would be most appreciated.

I have the same problem with just 2 monitors and quicken seems to be only one with the problem. I have also noticed a problem however when I go to the desktop, right click "display settings" windows page where you can identify which monitor is which. That is if I chose the "Detect" option there it returns something like "we cannot find another display". I have tried all the suggestions on the web for dealing with that but nothing has resolved it. Anyone know if this suggests a windows issue?

I see the same behavior. Win 11 23H2 with all updates, on a Lenovo desktop with 2 monitors (let's call them D1, in front of me and is my main display and D2 to the left, desktop extended). If I open Quicken on D2, bring up a graph and hover over one of the bars, the total appear on D1. Even better, if I move the cursor over to another bar, that total also appear on D1 but leaves a bit of the graph behind as an artifact. If I keep moving the cursor over to another bar, and another, the artifact keeps growing. Once I move off the graph, the artifacts disappear. If I have another application open on D1 at the same time, the artifacts cover the other open window.

If I open Quicken on D1, display a graph and hover over one of the bars, I see no totals. If I have Quicken on open in D2, open a graph and move the graph to D1 (using both screens), hover over a bar, I see no totals.

My guess is the totals are appearing but are behind the open Quicken windows (loss of focus in Window-speak).

I haven't observed this behavior in other apps so I'm inclined to think this is a Quicken issue dealing with multiple monitors.

Ah, I wanted to add that my primary monitor is a Lenovo ThinkVision and is connected using Display Port (digital). My secondary is a Dell connected using VGA (analog). Both are 22" and are running at 1680x1050 which is the "recommended" setting.

I upgraded from Win 10 back in April with a fresh Win11 install and fresh install of all apps. I don't recall the behavior in Win 10.

Not sure that matters as all other apps behave.

I shared my experience in one of the sub-posts of the OP and in this post. I have had this issue for years, with one difference:

My laptops' "recommended" scale is 125% - which is when I encounter this issue. If I change the scale to 100% (matching the scale of the extended monitor), all is resolved. In other words, I have the issue only if the scale between the two monitors is different. It is a Quicken scaling issue in my case and all other programs work fine. I have reported this in the past and I recommend everyone to do the same via Help > Report a problem.

Even though I can't reproduce this exactly I want to say that I have known that Quicken hasn't be "multiple monitor aware" forever, and at times displays things in the wrong place because of it.

For a very long time, Quicken has been making "popup messages" that are positioned by them calculating where they should be in comparison to where they think lines up with the underline data. But clearly their basing their calculations on the wrong screen at times. The "classic" problem is where they are positioning/sizing base on the "main display" even when Quicken isn't being displayed on it.

The "settings gear" on the Classic View Home tab is an example of this. I have three monitors, all with the same resolution of 2560x1440, Windows scaling 100%, and Quicken is on the left monitor (the center monitor is the main display).

If I put Quicken on the main display it positions this correctly:

Going on that theme while trying to reproduce what you guys are seeing got something "similar", but not exactly what you have.

Quicken on the main display, report on the left and hover over a bar.

Note though I have not been able to reproduce the graphics being displayed on the wrong monitor.

@Bob_L I had your issue of a 2nd monitor not being recognized by Windows. My computer with two monitors had been installed at a different location and worked great, but at the new location the two monitors were not the same, one was HDMI and the other was VGA or displayport. The computer ports for monitors #1 and #2 needed to be renamed to #1 and #2 to correctly correspond to the two monitors. Hope this helps.

No problem with Quicken graphs for me, but not sure I ever needed to move a graph to the other monitor, but can give it a try.

I use Quicken Classic Premier version R60.15 - 27.1.60.15 on Windows 11 Enterprise

@varlene Thanks, but I am not following what you mean by renaming the ports. They currently match what the monitors really are.

Did some more testing on this . . . I disconnected the #2 & #3 monitor & re-started, using only the monitor on my laptop (#1), and quicken runs fine . . . totals show where they're supposed to be . . . it's only when I have all monitors connected that I am having the issue.

When I was on Windows 10 (up until a week ago), everything worked fine when I was using all the monitors; so in my situation, this started when I transferred to windows 11 (which I'm kinda regretting, but really have no choice since windows 10 will no longer be supported at the end of next year)

While browsing some other sections I came across a post from @Rocket J Squirrel regarding improving Windows performance. Some of these affect graphics. Discovered I didn't have these settings and changed them. Lo and Behold, no more ghosting. With Quicken on D2 and I move the graph to D1, the totals appear where they should. However, if I have the Quicken main window on D1 and the graph on D2, the totals appear on the very edge of D1 but are readable. No more weird artifacts.

Already had the graphics settings so didn't help me there. But I have a question for @Rocket J Squirrel . Is the shortcut for raising process priority something you just invoke once or is it necessary to use it to launch Quicken every time?

UPDATE; apparently, my issue has something to do with my DellDock D3100; if I start my computer with the docking station plugged in, I get the issue of the graph totals on a different screen. If I start my computer without the docking station plugged in, then plug it in after startup, it seems to work fine & the totals are where they should be. Tried this multiple times & come up with the same results. I spoke with Dell, they said it might be some system incompatibilities with windows 11 & the docking station, since the docking station is (what she referred to as) a "legacy" item, no longer being produced. Not too sure if I'm going to replace the docking station at this point, as the work-around is not that big of a deal, and from what I've been told by Dell (though not too sure how accurate it is), it's actually better to plug in the docking station after startup, to reduce the number of processes the computer goes thru during startup.

Based on your experience, I tried disconnecting my second monitor, shutting down, restarting and then plugging monitor back in after windows had started. Amazingly, the problem in quicken went away. I closed quicken, slept the pc and then woke it up. The problem was back!!

I haven't tested this in many years, but the last time I did I found that Quicken doesn't take kindly to sleep or hibernation mode. In the distant past it would even block you going into that mode. I have noticed that it behaves "better" when I change the monitor settings on the fly, but as is pointed out from time to time even in the Windows prompts "not all programs might handle this correctly without a restart". If you put your machine into sleep/hibernate Windows saves and restores its state at startup, but in truth the world moves on and things change, and it is pretty difficult for a program to just continue depending on what it was doing at the time.

FWIW, I had to replace my PC and then install quicken. On my first running after installing QW it worked correctly. Then after the PC sleeping last night it's back to the same problem! Only thing common is the two monitors. My main monitor is philips E272E1 which is realtively new. Other one is very old Samsung 2443BWX which probably qualifies as "Legacy".

@nmestanas A long shot, but one thing that is common for both of my systems is that they both have Intel display adapters. Clearly they are probably one of the most common ones if not the dominant one. This it would be interesting if yours is Nvidia or something else as that would eliminate the intel one as a possible problem.

Mine's Intel. It's the onboard Intel HD graphics so no separate graphics card. My display 1, Lenovo ThinkVision L2251xW, is connected via Displayport, my 2nd is an older Dell 2208WFP on VGA. Both are 22". My PC is a Lenovo ThinkCentre M91.

I'd consider my whole system as "legacy" :)

Thanks for sharing that. Mine is the same on board chip, i.e. no card as yours. I had windows 11 for a long time before the problem came in, but I remember I got an intel uhd630 upgrade around the time I noticed the problem.

Well, about the only thing I can say about this is that it is probably at a very low level, either in the GUI library they are using or in the video driver or maybe even something at the Windows system level. I would try to see if you can update the video driver.

It is highly unlikely that the Quicken code is doing the painting of the graph.

Another problem was mentioned in that thread though that I do believe a bug in Quicken. There are various popups messages/menus/icons that Quicken does control directly and because of the way it is using to figure out what monitor it is on; it gets the location wrong. That was shown in the thread with the message off to the right. I can show it on my Home tab like this:

That menu should be under the gear icon on the right. And will be if I have Quicken on my main menu.

The two different problems can be separated by the fact that with the one above, the location is just wrong, but all of the "painting" of the menu is correct. Whereas for the other one, it is like you are painting with your mouse.

I do notice that this problem does seem to be "very recent". It could be some kind of call that Quicken changed in the last release, or maybe some Windows 11 update. I don't see that kind of problem on my setup, and it isn't being reported by everyone that has a multiple display setup or there would be a lot more complaints about it.

Just got new PC and problem still there. @Chris_QPW I was hoping this was a hardware issue, but can't tell as new pc has intel UHD730 vs UHD630 in the old one! Is yours intel or something else? FWIW, I think more complaints may eventually show up but it may take time as 2 monitors likely slim down the universe and the issue can be easily overlooked when looking at a chart and not necessarily hovering over parts of it.

The computer I'm on right now is Mini PC with an Intel N100 CPU and using the internal GPU (Intel UHD Graphics), 2560x1440 (100% Windows scaling). With three identical Acer SB272U Ebiip 27" WQHD 2560x1440 IPS Zero-Frame Gaming Office Monitors. Two hooked up with HMDI and one with USB-C.

@Bob_L did the problem start with a new version of Quicken?

I have been able to reproduce the problem. What I did is change the resolution of my main screen so that it isn't the same as the other two. Now if Quicken is on that main screen I see the "phantom graph painting" on another screen. If I put Quicken on that screen the "tips" with the bar information isn't visible.

What I will do as a next test is to see if an older version of Quicken has the same problem.

I just set my 2 monitors to the same resolution and it did not fix my problem. Specifically, run Investing, Investment performance report and hover over the line on the chart. Values still show up on second monitor instead of the main one.

I have a Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti graphics card and two identical Dell monitors. Nominally I keep both monitors at the same resolution and settings, both the problem remains even when trying different combinations of 1/2 and resolutions
