    Grrrr …………

All well and good, but my TIAA is the custodian of some of my retirement plan assets and not part of their banking operations.

Oh well, back to patience /endrant

Unfortunately, for those of us that attempted to reconnect, the correct TIAA institution is not showing in the bank list.

Thank you for your reply @Patrick Hasenjager,

Are you able to restore the backup from before you attempted to reconnect?

    Thank you!

</rant> TIAA is the custodian of a bunch of my retirement assets (and I'm now receiving regular distributions). This is not a part of TIAA's banking operations, so I have no relationship whatsoever with Everbank.

I would have expected TIAA to tell us about the outage and use all deliberate speed to restore the connection.

    I take it all back!

Connection is working again, and looks like we're back in business. We'll know for sure with tomorrow's account update.

Restoring from backup did recover the connection, but that sucks because I had about 50 transactions to re-do from that backup.

I just tried updating again, and tiaa-cref.org worked where it had failed before. I had gotten the "UKNOWN ANOMALOUS STATE" message, but I held off on making any changes, and now it works again. (Monday, March 17, 2025, at 4:00 PM Pacific.)

Same error I've seen for several days trying to connect to TIAA-CREF using Quicken for Mac. It worked until some time late last week.

I have also been able to reestablish a connection to TIAA brokerage. There are two tiaa.org institutional names available, one just “TIAA” and the other “TIAA brokerage”. The “TIAA” option uses Direct Connect, while “TIAA brokerage” used Quicken Connect, which only allows “simple” tracking. The “TIAA” option (via Direct Connect) allows either. This option was not in the list several days when I first had trouble. Thanks to either TIAA and/or Quicken for making Direct Connect work.

TIAA sold its banking division to a group that rebranded as Everbank. This has nothing to do with the retirement and wealth management component of TIAA.

So, hopefully, this doesn't add to the confusion.

TIAA started working again, and now today it stopped. It won't reconnect. Sheesh, what is up with all of these investment connection issues!

    Hello @pemartin210,

Thank you for letting us know you're still having trouble connecting. The issue discussed in this thread was marked resolved on March 22nd.

What exactly is happening when you try to update/connect with TIAA? When I check on our end for any issues, I'm not seeing any error messages.

I look forward to your response!
