Target Unable to Connect (QWIN)

As of this morning, still returning the 'Oops CC-501' after 2FA verification and searching for accounts.

You are correct about the relationship between the two banks, @Mike O'Brien. Do hope it's resolved soon though, thankfully, it's not a credit card I use that often.

Tried to connect again today to set up my online account ( March 26 10 am) . I get the same message that it is a Quicken server issue and to not contact Target Red Card to resolve the issue. I haven't been able to download transactions since March 3. I had reset my account once in February and the downloads resumed but then they stopped. I reset my account on March 3 and that's the last time I was able to download transactions I tried resetting the account again a few days ago and I still get the same message.

9 days later, still returning the 'Oops CC-501' after 2FA verification, and no ETA for resolving this.

This matches my experience as well when using Target National Bank.

March 27th still having the same problems that started after the Target maintenance.

Same problem for me as well for over two weeks. I am unable to import QFX files from the Target Circle Card website.

After trying at least once a day for the past 10 days I was able to setup the online services again this morning and downloaded transactions. I was getting the same CC-501 error everyone else was getting so maybe it's fixed now.

Well, it was successfully setup and transactions downloaded but then I tried a full update of everything and got the pop up that the account was having issues. I chose the reset account option and went through the process again. It used my saved credentials, prompted for the code, found the account which I had to link with my existing account manually (did it automatically the first time today), then prompted for another security code, and finally downloaded the transactions again and said the connection was restored.
I tried another full update of all accounts again after this and didn't have any errors.

Unfortunately, the hickman52 solution didn't work for me after trying three times. It is good to know that it's at least working for someone. When I saw his (her?) message, I was hoping we were done with this. Maybe we all will be soon.

Like all the others here, I haven't been able to download from Target since March 3 despite numerous attempts. For the annual license cost, this should have been fixed by the Quicken team long ago. All I can say is that this is poor customer service, and it makes me hesitant to recommend Quicken to my followers.

I'm pretty confident the issue isn't fully resolved for me either. I just now tried to update only the Target account, was prompted for the code, then got the Connectivity Problems message. I reset it, was prompted for the code, and now I'm back to the same CC-501 message we've all been getting.
It was encouraging to see it work 3 times this morning and I was glad to be able to get my newest transactions, but looks like more work needs to be done. Sorry for the false hope. 🙂

Hello Quicken team,
Please let us know what is going on with the connection to the Target Credit Card. It has been a few days since your last update: "We are working on it." Do subscribers get any discount at the time of renewal? Perhaps $1 per day of no connection!

This situation with Target transactions not able to be downloaded into Quicken is very dissappointing. It makes me wonder about the competence of the Quicken employees involved in fixing this problem. Please put your best people to work on this problem and get it fixed NOW!!!! We have had to put up with this situation for too long. And, it would be great if subscribers get a significant discount at the time of renewal to compensate for the stress that has been caused by not providing the service that subscribers have paid for.

Same issue. I was able to get the code when prompted but after entering it, after a delay I get the same frustrating result as others.

I'm getting a CC-506 error with Target National Bank and Quicken R61.21 / 27.1.61.21 ☹️

So where are we? do we have a solution I'm still getting a 501 error

I, too, would really appreciate it if Quicken could perform the necessary analysis and fix this issue with Target. I have been successfully updating my Target credit card account through One Step Update since 2017, and it hasn't worked for at least a month. I am able to sign into the website with no problem.

I was able to reset my Target account and successfully download transactions for the past three days or so. Unfortunately, every login requires a 2FA code to be sent, which will make it impractical to include in the daily One Step Update.

Thank you for coming to share. I am happy to hear that you are able to download transactions, though the repeated 2FA is frustrating.

@vicdbrwski That 2FA request is beginning to happen pretty routinely with many banks, and it isn't too much of a problem if just one of your accounts requires that. Associated Bank does that to me, and all that happens is that, during the One Step Update on my PC, the bank asks how I want the code (email or text), and I use my iPhone to take the code and then enter it on my PC. The rest of the Update stays paused while that happens. With only one bank being a stickler for 2FA, it works okay. OSU wouldn't work too well if you had three or four banks doing that. And that may come. But it's good to have Target back online and cooperating with OSU.

Having said that, I have wondered for a couple years if Quicken could negotiate away the 2FA request for Quicken One Step Updates. Unlike the typical bank logon, OSU involves no transfer-of-funds potential, and I'd be curious to know what some real security experts would think about a system that permitted the Quicken OSU without 2FA. Quicken should be thinking about this because the day is coming when all the banks may start insisting upon 2FA for Quicken downloads. And that would really mess things up for us Quicken users.

I tried updating my Target Card through Quicken, and Quicken went through the 2FA (but asks for 2FA every time). However, instead of updating the existing account, it insisted on creating a new account and would not let me select the existing account to update. This is a major no-no for me as it changes the balance in my other account, which I use to make payments to this card.
Therefore, I strongly advise backing up the Quicken Data file before attempting to update the Target Credit Card. Good luck!
