April 2, 2025 cc-506 charles schwab

Anyone having issues with charles schwab today. I'm getting cc-506 charles schwab. Nothing was changed (nothing closed or renamed). I have banking and investing accounts. If you look at the last download date, it is current. However nothing is updated. Thank you for the assistance.

Hello @Monte Washburn,
We appreciate you reaching out!
After reviewing your account, I don’t see any internal errors occurring. However, since you’re receiving error CC-506 on your end, I recommend reviewing and following the troubleshooting steps outlined in this support article.
Please be sure to follow all steps carefully, as skipping any could affect the outcome.
Let us know how it goes!

I'm going to "Me Too" this problem. Working through the support article (8 accounts!) did get me reconnected, but resulted in new problems as shown:
So, now what? I guess I could manually de;ete the downloads and then manually clear the transactions (losing date downloaded info) but what if the problem repeats with the next OSU?
Suggestions?
ADDED1: I was so focused on the downloads I didn't realize that the process had completely hosed my register! That line item "Statement" shows the bank's balance as the first number and then starts with the balance in the Register as of that date - $1,286.04. Now that balance is shown as ($454.20)!
ADDED2: Looking at the hosed file I did see that the Opening Balance had been changed from $0 to a $1.7K transaction, but changing that transaction back to $0 didn't fix things. I scrolled backwards looking at previous "Statement" entries and it was clear that transactions throughout the Register had been changed as the difference between my "text" current Register balance and the balance in Quicken was constantly changing. Restored a backup from last night to get things back to normal, so now I'm going to sit tight. I'll do an OSU without Schwab included just to get me back to where I was before trying to fix the Schwab issue.
ADDED3: Man, I've put hours and hours into this problem but, I think, I might be in a place that isn't perfect, but I'll try to live with for the moment.
This morning (4/3) I took my most recent known good file, made doubly sure that every single Schwab Account (including "Separate") was unconnected and did an OSU on the file for all the other Accounts. I saved that file, did a Validation on the file - no errors other than one of those stray "ACCT_XXX" leftover Accounts - then laboriously walked through Adding and Linking all the Schwab Accounts. That process seemed to work except there were no new transactions downloaded even though 2 of the Accounts did have eligible transactions that should have been downloaded. I then did a OSU on all of the Schwab files.
Once again Quicken changed the $0 "Opening Balance" number in the checking Account. (The number entered was actually Schwab's 3/31/25 balance for the account.) This time however fixing that error did bring my Register back into balance. Whew! Quicken also downloaded - once again - the three $0 transactions shown above with the "Match" being to my $0 "Statement" line and 2 "New" transactions even though the proper transactions are there in the Register. I simply deleted those downloaded transactions and will manually clear them.
In the Investment Account with transactions those 2 transactions did download properly and I accepted them.
I'll see how this plays out over the next few days.
ADDED4: After a day or two of running seemingly OK, the Schwab Checking Account - the ONLY ONE of the 8 Schwab Accounts in my file, came up with the cc-506, but now the OSU Summery is saying all the Accounts are affected. Looking at the Checking Account Quicken once again affected the Opening Balance, changing it form $0 to the 3/31/25 statement amount, and downloaded those same 3 zero-dollar "Deposit" transactions as noted above.
I just did a "Update now" on Schwab and 2 Accounts that actually have had some transactions showed the red flag signalling transactions downloaded. The Savings Account showed a transfer out affected 4/5, but the Checking Account did not download that transaction, though Schwab's site showed the transfer in both Checking and Savings. A Roth downloaded 2 Bought transactions that took place 4/3/25, so that CC-506 error really seems to only be affecting the Checking Account despite what the OSU summary says.
ADDED5: Downloads from Schwab are properly being reflected in Schwab Accounts with transactions EXCEPT the Checking Account; no new transactions are being downloaded, the Opening Balance is not being affected BUT… Quicken is deleting "future" (future to "today's" download) manual transactions! So, for example, today after doing the OSU, I looked in the Checking Account Register to see how we were set for cash for the upcoming 4/15 income tax payments - Franchise Tax Board and United States Treasury - and NO FUTURE transactions with these two entities were in the Register. A Register search for these two payees resulted in the same output; they both stopped at the 1/15/2024 transaction previously recorded. Not only did Quicken delete these transactions, it deleted the Memorized Payees for these two payees.

Thanks @Tom Young for your ADDED2. I had been getting the cc-506 error only since this evening and the "click yes or no" troubleshooting only told me to wait for tomorrow. (I should have in hindsight).
This problem I think has been existing all day as I didn't get the zero balance line items at first. The first thing I noticed that transactions I SAW had cleared in Schwab weren't showing up as cleared after my morning OSU about 7am despite no cc-506 error. I just let it go and didn't worry about it.
This evening I got the first cc-506 error, clicked fix it and walked through the troubleshooting. It told me to just wait. I did it again but did the last "yes" which tried to reset the account. The pop up window never responded so I cancelled it. I then went into the Schwab checking account register and did repair. That's when it prompted me to reauthorize in Schwab and I did. That's when it downloaded "only" 4 zero line items. I thought if I deleted them that was that, but then per your ADDED2, I saw my balance despite no erroneous line items was all wrong. I used a previous backup and haven't updated since. Kinda scared to.
Hopefully @Quicken Anja can identify this as a legit issue (whether Schwab or how Quicken handles the Schwab data) and get the team working and notify more people.

Is this an officially open issue? I don't see quicken acknowledging this as so. The last quicken response was to do the reset?
BTW: I'm having the cc-506 error as well. Having reset my accounts multiple times, sometimes it works fine, but occasionally, the balance gets hosed and I've never been able to figure out why. Sigh…

I have been having the issue since March 30. It tells me to disconnect and reconnect the account, however, that does not resolve the issue.

This morning it turned into a cc-800 error. And AMEX joined in on the fun. Same description in the OSU summary as yesterday, but different code. Oh, and for me it's only Charles Schwab BANK, not the brokerage part I'm having problems with. I will do the "report an issue" thing as well, but hopefully you can find the error. I figured it could be Schwab, but given AMEX threw an error too, now I'm thinking the Quicken servers are the root cause.

Same issue for me. Bank transactions showing up as $0 transactions.

Same issue - after disabling online setup for all Schwab accounts and setting accounts back up, brokerage accounts updated with transactions as expected. Schwab bank account transactions updated with $0 amounts.

I feel like Schwab Bank isn't a real bank. It's weird. When you call into their technical support, they say that the bank is small and separate, and they don't have technical support for the bank.

FYI. Submitted problem report with sanitized data file as requested.
