The "Membership Expired" message is ok for a while, but it takes up valuable screen space. Please remove this message.

You're not making any friends with such an annoying message. Believe me!

This has been requested many times over the years but Quicken has said they will not do that. Originally they were planning to do what most companies do when a software subscription expires….make the software non-functional (I think it would remain read-only). But they finally agreed to make the software manually usable but with no online services available (i.e., no downloading/importing, no stock price updates, no software updates, no Zillow updates, etc.). However, there will be these banners reminding us to resubscribe when our subscription has expired and the only way to remove those banners is by resubscribing.

I can't speak for Quicken but I'm pretty sure they view Quicken users who have stopped subscribing as having stopped being a "friend" to Quicken. So, why should they do something for ex-customers who won't resubscribe? If you want them to be your "friend", again, you will need to be their "friend", again, by renewing your subscription and being a paying customer.

This is not a "friend" relationship. It's buyer/seller or provider/user.

If I stopped paying my annual homeowner insurance, they would drop me.

Quicken user since version 2 for DOS, as of 2025 using QWin Premier (US) on Win10 Pro & Win11 Pro on 2 PCs.

I understand the need to advertise but I do not really use any of the paid features even when I am a subscriber. I use quicken on a non-widescreen monitor. This is just a request to remove the right side subscription expired banner. Thanks for the consideration.

but I do not really use any of the paid features even when I am a subscriber

Quicken has zero “free features”. No one uses all of Quicken’s features, but that isn’t how Quicken is priced out.

So, it is irrelevant what features you use or don’t use.

Quicken Inc has ongoing costs and needs to make a profit. If you aren’t going to fund that then you aren’t a customer to them anymore. So, they figure they have nothing to lose by using a stick to make you change your mind.

I have been using Quicken since the single 6" floppy drive days. I purchased new versions along the way as things improved. Eventually I was renewing the program about every three years until they forced us into a yearly subscription, now I put up with the annoying banner until they offer me a discount. I haven't used any of the new features so I can't really justify paying for the new program especially when nothing innovative has come out in ages. Microsoft does the same thing but at least they have so much more to offer. Microsoft just raised there price 30% and they are offering co-pilot which is not that great as reliable search. Last week I wanted a simple search of an NFL team roster and they got it wrong. Bottom line I wait as long as I can to update the product. I recoup about 30 to 40% every year which is lost revenue for them. The subscription has little value. I they would bundle tax software with it I would gladly pay.

Quicken Inc doesn't sell tax software. You are thinking of Intuit which hasn't owned Quicken for many years now.

[Removed - 3rd Party Software] might be just as good,
