Why can't Quicken even contact Nordstrom to connect an account?

    I was able to get in but my latest purchase was downloaded as a payment. I corrected the transaction. I logged into the account and manually cleared all the transaction since November. When I went to reconcile the account reconciliation process said my balance was zero when in fact my Quicken balance in the software was the same balance as my Nordstrom account. It seems they "fixed" part of the download problem but not the reconciliation problem. I wonder how long it will take to fix the issue these issue. Maybe another 5 or 6 months?

    I can now connect to Nordstrom. However, only the most recent of 10+ transactions is downloaded, and the transaction was recorded as a payment instead of a charge. One step forward… Two steps back…

    me too. Finally Quicken connects and downloads, but charges are recorded as payments. Not ok.

    Click on one of those transactions and open the Transactions Inspector window (View > Show Inspector). Look at the last line in the window: the Statement Amount. The Statement Amount is the amount exactly as transmitted by the financial institution. For an expense, this should be a negative number. If it is a positive number, then the fault is with the Nordstrom card. But if it is a negative number, but the Amount in the middle of that window is a positive number, that would show the problem is with Quicken flipping the sign on the transaction. (This could happen if Quicken needed to do this sometime in the past to correct for Nordstrom sending transaction amounts with the wrong sign, and if now Nordstrom has fixed their previous error, Quicken needs to remove their "fix" for that past error.)

    What do you see when you open the Transactions Inspector window?

    @RosiePosie What if the problem is entirely on the Nordstrom card end? Do you expect Quicken to pay you even if the problem was one Quicken wasn’t responsible for?

    Today is May 1, 2025. Nordstrom/Quicken has had this problem of not being able to download for 6 months! And now, I'm able to connect and download and the entries are all flipped. Purchases coming out as credits and payments coming across at purchases. You'd think Nordstrom with all their millions/billions would get a competent IT group to fix this. You can only call customer service to tell them about the problem but no way to talk to anyone in IT. It all worked before they changed the website perfectly. Their customers are unhappy!!!

    For a couple of days, I was able to get data from Nordstrom credit card into Quicken, but it was reversing charges for payments. This is very obvious because I've had this Nordstrom card downloading data into Quicken for years and years, before it stopped working about November of 2024. It was always correctly categorizing payments and charges in the past, so it's easy to see that the new transactions are not in the right column.

    I have hand edited the transactions that were downloaded in these few days, because it wasn't very many, but I am tired of compensating for Quicken bugs for so many months now.

    Why is Quicken not listening to these complaints from multiple users, and taking our word for it? Telling us we probably don't know charge versus payment is insulting.

    Anyway today, I'm back to getting CC-502 error for Nordstrom credit card. Please fix this!

    By the way I also get data from my Discover credit card, as I have for years and years. Discover is working correctly, with charges and payments in the correct column. But the Nordstrom credit card is reversing charges and payments. Please fix it. And please also fix whatever is causing the cc-502 again today.

    I am not getting any downloads at all, reversed or otherwise. I get the MFA request and the number from Nordstrom, enter it but no data download. I'm having the same exact issue with Target. Where it looks like everything is working but no downloads.

    It worked for about a week. When I tried to reconcile the account I couldn't because Quicken said the bank balance was zero when in fact there was a balance in Quicken that matched the bank. Now is it not working again and I am getting the same error as before. Why they can't fix this after almost 6 months is nuts

    The team working on the issue said that the financial institution is no longer blocking. Are you able to connect to Nordstrom now? If you are not able to connect, what error messages/codes are you seeing? If you are able to connect, are your transactions downloading correctly?

    I am now, after many months, able to download Nordstrom Credit Card trnasactions. But every time, the download pauses as I am forced to enter a code for a 2 factor identification. Very annoying.

    I am still having the same problem. I was able to connect about a week ago and could not reconcile because the bank said there was a balance and my account on Quicken was the same balance as the bank but in the when I went to reconcile the bank I couldn't because the reconciliation said the balance was zero. I can't believe it has been a problem for 6 months.

    I am getting error cc 601 now, when I try to download from Nordstrom credit card. Not getting any data at all. This has been broken since November. When is it getting fixed?

    I am using Quicken Windows subscription, up to date on revisions. Also, I am able to get data from my Discover credit card, and I am able to do the Nordstrom card 2 factor auth too. Just the Nordstrom card won't download my data. PLEASE fix this!!!

    At this point I've just removed Nordstrom from my downloads so I don't go through the 2FA process every day.

    This is the error I am getting: Nordstrom Card Account(csammis) - Error FDP-101 (CP_SCRIPT_ERROR -  INVALID_TRANSACTION_DATE:). I actually spoke with someone at Nordstrom about the problem yesterday. She seemed pretty knowledgeable the about the website the bank interface with Quicken. Let's see if she will be able to contact the right people to get this fixed.

    Both Target and Nordstrom use the same bank. When updating my accounts I have to do the 2FA on the Target card too. It is annoying so I hope they fix it soon. That seems to be a bank problem. I have other credit cards where I have 2FA but don't have a problem updating Quicken.

    Still getting cc 601 on the Nordstrom credit card.

    I have another credit card that is still working well. Nordstrom card not working since last November.

    Quicken, why can't you make this work for the Nordstrom credit card? It has been 6 months. We're all paying by subscriptions for a lot of months where the product isn't working for us.

    @LenoreK You’re assuming this is Quicken’s fault, or something they can fix. In many (most?) cases with connectivity problems, the financial institution makes a change which causes the problem, and has to make additional changes to restore connectivity. Quicken often can’t do much except wait for the financial institution to get around to implementing a fix.

    May 11, 2025 what is going on, for having been forced to keep Quicken with an annual subscription the fact that this issue has been going on for the duration it has is unacceptable. At least they're good enough to tell me the issue is not mine.

    Did not get Error FDP-101 today. Did download a purchase, although as before the transaction was entered as a credit.

    I was able to connect today, and only 1 transaction downloaded, when I was expecting several weeks since my previous "successful" but wrong download. Again, the charge was reported incorrectly as a payment.

    If this is not Quicken's fault, but Quicken is ok with taking my subscription money for the 6+ months that this hasn't worked, and it's still not working, then Quicken should send an engineer over to Nordstrom's team to get it working.

    Or, maybe Quicken should refund all of us our subscription payments until this works again.

    I pay Quicken for this feature, so it's not ok to just say it's probably not Quicken's fault, and act helpless about it while continuing to collect the full amount for my subscription.
