New Transaction for Checking Account or Credit Card

I used another program before Quicken and you could select "new transaction" and it would pop-up a form to fill in. You put the transaction and account information the form and it would record it to the proper register. I'm not used to entering a new transaction as a line item in a register.

Are there any other transaction entry options available? I'd like to try out any available options if they exist.
