fidelity rewards visa with elan bank

I see that people are reporting missing transactions. As of yesterday, it appears that Fidelity Visa card/Elan Financial is a day behind on posted transactions that appear in their app. The online balance, as a result, doesn't coincide with the actual online balance through the card's app.

Please let me know if this will be the new way Fidelity/Quicken will be downloading for this credit card, or if this is being addressed… It WILL make a difference when using the Quicken balance to make a payment as it will be missing transactions.

    Hello @Franniedc,

Thank you for letting us know you're seeing this issue. To clarify, the transactions are delayed on the financial institution's side, or only in Quicken?

If this is happening on the financial institution's side, then I recommend reaching out to them for further assistance.

I look forward to your reply!

the delay is def on the quicken side. When I login to fidelity visa all posted trans are there

But a few are missing g in quicken. They then show up in quicken the next day

Are you using Elan Financial Services to download? I have no trouble using that method to keep my fidelity rewards card in balance.

  • Franniedc
Franniedc Quicken Windows Subscription Member ✭✭

yes. Elan is part of the new fidelity investment log in. All accounts w fidelity are updated thru the one log in.
I’m pretty sure the postings show up later in the day after 6 am as I received a notification of posting after I did an update All was up to date w my statement

Btw if you have an investment account you can now only access the visa rewards card thru that log in

    All good

Elan FI has a different login and seems to download transaction just fine. Check to see if the Elan Account Details connection method is using Elan FI.

Thank you for your reply @Franniedc,

As @leishirsute pointed out, if your account is currently connected to Fidelity Investments, you would want to try switching to the Elan Financial Services connection.

To do that, backup your Quicken file, deactivate the problem account, navigate to Tools>Add Account, search for Elan Financial Services, then follow the prompts, making sure to link the account to the correct nickname in Quicken.

    I hope this helps!

my quicken does not allow me to choose Elan. It takes me directly to a special login for Fidelity.

My experience is Fidelty now downloads all accounts with them, including the elan fidelity rewards visa, in one download. I followed your directions and can no longer get the card to activate express web connect with FIDELITY

  • Franniedc
Franniedc Quicken Windows Subscription Member ✭✭

I retried and quicken was able to access all accounts with Fidelity and resynced/linked the investment account and the fidelity rewards visa card (as Quicken labeled it as such, not as Elan in the past)

I am convinced that Fidelity has changed their download access to Quicken and updates all accounts they manage (even with Elan) as it does when I log in to fidelity online. In my Fidelity account I see all accounts including the Visa card and can access the visa card through my investment log in. Therefore there is something going on with downloads for all accounts and there is a delay in posting from Fidelity.

PS my flagstar bank has numerous accounts and they are all accessed through the one log in.. It appears Fidelity is going this route.

I can no longer through my browser log into the fidelity visa rewards card. The page doesnt load, I can only access the card through fidelity.com

note for fidelity rewards in the http address this screen comes up..under login it says "if you do not have a fidelity investment account log in here.
They have grouped all accounts including the visa card with the general fidelity log in.

They are in a migration from a notification that I received from Quicken

ok, I can force a download from Elan by adding elan with my old login for the visa card…However, it is a duplication and it IS up to date.

I thinking there is a day delay from elan to fidelity. Fidelity has definitely migrated elan into its account list. I am going to delete this elan duplication and wait to see when fidelity visa within fidelity in
Quicken updates. fyi, all accounts with fidelity are up to date with the online account including the visa.

Patience is a virtue. They must we working on things and I get in based on where they are at.

I have forever linked my Quicken Elan credit card accounts to Elan Financial Services. And Fidelity Brokerage accounts to Fidelity Investments (which, FYI now appear in the Update Summary window as 'ZZZ-Fidelity Investments).

My Fidelity Elan Credit Card accoount updates now fail for cc-503 (login) errors. It is not clear to me (nor can I find any email communication) if my credit cards should be connecting to Elan or Fidelity? Maybe I missed it. Has anyone seen any formal communication?

I deactivated Online services for the 2 accounts, but:

Quicken Fidelity Elan Account A shows Financial Institution = Elan Financial Services. When I try to set up Online Services my Elan credentials that have worked for year now fail. Yet they work at the Elan site. If neccessary, how do I clear the Financial Institution?

Quicken Fidelity Elan Account B shows Financial Instiution = blank. Should I use Fidelity Investments as the Financial Instiution?

How does this get so messed up. :(

when i try to download from elan i get the following error:

    Hmmm… can't reach this page
Check if there is a typo in online.elancard.com.

the url the download is attempting to reach is:

I find the URL above to not work.

I reach my Elan/Fidelity card site at https://login.fidelityrewards.com/onlineCard/login.do?loc=24193&theme=elan1

Note this is not Fidelity Investments - and has its own credentials. My credentials work at this site (as they have for years). They just don't work when establishing online services for this account in quicken.

I had a communication from Quicken that there was a migration ( whatever that means)of fidelity w quicken

When. It first occurred quicken automatically sent me to an http page in my browser where I had to agree to downloads w fidelity and verify my credentials and log in. With that my fidelity investment accounts and rewards visa resynced I now had a “fidelity rewards Visa card” and the original Elan card in my list of accounts

I eventually deleted the elan card account to avoid duplication I have noticed that downloads for the rewards card coming thru fidelity investments is a day behind

I have played around w re adding elan to check online balances but have kept only the card called fidelity rewards visa so as not to duplicate n throw off net worth

Aug 20th , today , is the day this migration or syncing is occurring For now my one step update is working The report after the update completes shows 3 accounts updated, one of which is the Visa card

    Hope this helps

    See Below.

For me my Fidelity investment accounts download as they always have. They have not however added my Fidelity rewards card to the list of accounts. My Fidelity rewards card linked to the Elan financial services no longer updates or connects. I get a message that I must have mistyped my password. I know that I have put it in correctly. I really don't know what to do to update my credit card. Totally lost. Need a little help from quicken on this one. If there has been a change for downloading from Fidelity or from Elan financial services Quicken should have let me know.

*****UPDATE. Never mind. Sometimes we overlook the obvious. Most of my Fidelity investment accounts are joint accounts with my wife so I log into them in Quicken with MY Fidelity login and get all the info. But the credit card? That's in my wife's name and when I logged into Fidelity with her login indeed the card appeared. All is good. Still, I don't know why I never received any communication from Quicken, Fidelity or Elan about this change.

Just lucky that I stumbled onto this discussion or I would still not have any idea what to do. Thank goodness for the Quicken Community and everyone's extraordinary patience and helpfulness 🙏

I started running into the same issue today: Elan no longer lets me download Fidelity Rewards Card transactions through "Elan Financial Services". I can still directly log on to the Elan web site, but Quicken seems to have moved authentication to away from Elan to Fidelity. In order to reconnect, Quicken now wants me to go through an authorization step with Fidelity first. Reading through the long fine print, you are basically giving Quicken the right to pretty much all data Fidelity has on you, when all I want is download my transactions to Quicken on my local desktop. I do NOT want Quicken to store a complete copy of all my Fidelity data in their own cloud, only to service my desktop download!! For now I have only activated the credit card that way, and still connect all my other Fidelity accounts through "Fidelity Investments Mac". Let's see how long that will work. I think this is a major privacy issue and not communicated at all by Quicken.

Yes, I'm getting errors for Elan access as well as of this afternoon. This morning it worked fine. Maybe a temporary issue?

Same with me….downloading from Elan worked fine this morning but I got a CC-503 error code this evening. I've seen quite a few posts about this error this evening.

I'm guessing Elan (which is a US Bank financial institution) is having a system issue this evening. I've seen it happen before and usually the issue is resolved within the next 1-2 days.

(Edit 8/21/2025: Corrected the name of the financial institution that Elan is part of.)

BTW, I agree with @Franniedc that transactions downloading of this credit card from Fidelity Investments does lag downloads from Elan by 1 day. It's been this way for as long as I can remember.

ok guys. Just did one step up date. Rewards visa account I kept as fidelity not elan.
all 3 accounts updated thru the one download login fidelity.com

They are in sync with the online fidelity.com

All is good if u have a fidelity investment acct w the card as part of there accounts

The scheduled 8/20 Fidelity transition w/Quicken did not occur and will not occur until further notice. There are numerous threads on this. Here are two of the examples:

Re: Connection with the Fidelity Rewards card, I have always used the Elan Financial Services link. In the pasts couple days I started receiving the CC-503 error and no downloads. After 2 days I tried to reset the account and it is now connected and downloading the latest transactions consistent with the posted transactions on the website. (I don't use "pending transactions" so can't comment on that) Elan credentials are different from Fidelity Investments credentials.

P.S. Elan Financial is a subsidiary of US Bank, not Citi

Yes, Fidelity's transition from DC to EWC+ for investment accounts was paused a couple of weeks ago and the hard cut-over to EWC+ has been delayed until Fidelity/Quicken/Intuit resolve the issues they've had with EWC+. But EWC+ for the Fidelity Rewards credit card has been working (as posted by other users in different threads).

Thanks for catching my typo regarding which financial institution Elan is part of. I knew that but for some reason mistakenly typed in the wrong one in my earlier post. I have corrected that post.

I am still getting the CC-503 error code with Elan Financial Services. Will try try again later.

Are those of us with fidelity investment accounts going to be forced to use the fidelity login instead of ELAN, or is this password issue just a temporary glitch at ELAN? I have not been ugraded to EWC+ yet for two days now, I get the password error message; however, after entering it again, the transactions do download, so I am not making any changes in Quicken yet.

    Not to pile on…but…

Yep…Started getting CC-503 with Elan Financial. The Fidelity Investments OSU works. I started doing both when we had Elan issues last year! I prefer Elan becuase the Fidelity transactions lag by about a day.

Will be moving back to the 1990s and performing manual downloads with Elan until they get it fixed.

I just went to move the Visa back to Elan from Fidelity and it updated with no lag. A new posting was right there. I think I will keep it as is for now. If lag is the only reason to be with Elan for the card, its a non-issue for me. If there are more reasons to prefer Elan I would like to know.

  • Franniedc
Franniedc Quicken Windows Subscription Member ✭✭

    Bob

Think I will give the fidelity full accounts update through quicken a day and see if the one day lag updates tomorrow

I have had Elan and fidelity rewards visa in my register and Elan would be up to date w the online elan

My bank sometimes has a day lag on a transaction I can live w the day lag w fidelity however for card bill paying I will always check online

Btw Online fidelity.com is always accurate for the rewards card

    Thanks for your input
