Capital One Confirmation Email
I received an email from Capital One today stating "You connected to Quicken 30 days ago. Do you want to keep sharing data with them? This connection is NOT newly established nor touched by me in quite some time. I ASSUME if I ignore this email my connection will remain in tact? Can anyone confirm this?
I really frown on clicking on links within emails, even coming from valid sources. There is no option online that I can find to confirm the connection, only to disconnect.
Thanks

Hello @Dom1,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community with this question! I have a Capital One card connected in my Quicken, and I have also seen emails like that, usually 30-90 days after I added or reconnected/reauthorized the account.
I haven't been able to find anything on Capital One's website that allows me to confirm either, and I share your reluctance to click on links in emails, unless it's an email that is an immediate response to an action I just took (like a password reset email). What I observed was that a week or two after ignoring the email, my account stopped updating, and I had to reauthorize it in order to download transactions again.
I hope this helps!

It might be a good idea if you used "seldom used credit cards" at least once a month. This shows the credit card company that you are still an active card user and they won't (shouldn't) disconnect the account from downloading.
My 2¢ …

How often do you download transactions from this card to Quicken? I would guess that this message is triggered by infrequent downloading, not by how often you use the card.

I update Quicken pretty much daily (bank, investments, credit cards). I did try to update about a week ago and received an error message related to connection failure for the Capital One account. I did NOT remedy the situation but when I updated accounts the next day everything was fine (still is).
Thanks
