Wells Fargo logo at Quicken start-up.

A long time ago when the world was still somewhat good and had not gone nutzoid over 2FA, Wells Fargo’s credit cards worked very nicely with One-Step Update. So much so that Quicken rewarded WF by adding the Wells Fargo logo to Quicken’s start-up logo.

However, some time ago (two years?) Wells Fargo changed their authentication protocols, and it no longer works with One-Step Update. I even recently got a new mobile phone, and they don’t like it either. Wells Fargo blames the phone company and refuses to investigate. They ignore the fact that my new phone supports 2FA for many other websites I use (100+), including a dozen or so other financials.

My question… is it possible to have the Wells Fargo logo removed from my Quicken start-up?

I really don’t appreciate be reminded every time I start Quicken that I have a business relationship with such prima donnas. I have been a Quicken user for some 30+ years. Wells Fargo does not seem to understand the supporting One-Step Update is a business requirement for me.

I'm running Quicken Classic Premier for Windows, on Windows 10.

NO, WF paid Q for the right to have it's logo displayed. It's an advertising thing.

    Hello @Dave Kacoroski,

Thank you for reaching out! The Wells Fargo logo on Quicken startup usually means that you have or had one or more Wells Fargo accounts connected by Direct Connect.

According to a recent discussion, reinstalling Quicken removed that logo for one customer:

According to an older post, there is another process that may also work:

    I hope this helps!

    Solution… and not!

I reinstalled Quicken, and the Wells Fargo logo disappeared from startup. 😁 Then to check, I performed a download via web connect (Wells Fargo does not support direct connect for me), and the logo returned. 😡
