update 8/18/2025 ONLINE BILLERS A TOTAL MESS

After updating this morning toR64.19 build 27.1.64.19 my online billers are a total mess. AMEX is showing in the BILLS & INCOME tab for the next 12 months of scheduled bills even though option if for the next 30 days.

Half of my previous online billers say to RECONNECT yet there is no biller with which to connect. Such large accounts as AT&T and DISCOVER card. Looks like most are back to TRACK MANUALLY.

    Hello @Kerry,

Thanks for reaching out with this issue!

A few things I’m curious about that might help make sense of what’s happening with your billers:

    • With AMEX showing 12 months of scheduled bills, was this behavior happening before the update, or did it start immediately after?
    • For the billers that say “RECONNECT” but don’t appear in the list, were these previously functioning online billers, or were they already having occasional issues?
    • Are there any patterns with the accounts that reverted to “Track Manually” — specific types of bills, or certain institutions more than others?
    • When you look at the Bills & Income tab, do any of the affected billers show upcoming payments correctly, or is it all blank?
    • Did you notice any messages, errors, or unusual behavior during the update itself that might be related?

Interested to hear what you see when you check these.

Can't speak for user Kerry but I had the same issue. When I was unable to find a biller that had been an online biller before (Fairfax Water, in this case), I set the bill to track manually and the extra instances went away. Similarly for the two accounts I was successfully able to Reconnect, the extra instances resolved. I suspect the 12-months of future instances were cached or something from how the Online Billing setup tracks upcoming payments and dealing with each Payee allows it to reprocess the future instances into readiness, whether manually or via the online connection.

I do hope that the plan is to continue to hook up payees into the online system as many of my online vendors no longer appear and I have to track them manually now.

    Hello @Sisyphus1967,

Unfortunately, the new service provider supports fewer billers than the old one did. They do plan to support more in the future. For more information, please see this article: https://www.quicken.com/support/improved-ebills/

    Thank you!

@Quicken Kristina Is there a list of supported online billers with the new provider? How quickly will they be providing more? I would hope they would be adding daily!

Can we get a topic to request billers not yet supported? Or a form? Or a specific report a problem method?

Can I assume all the big ones are there? Wells, BofA, Citi, Chase, Fidelity, etc, etc and those missing might be regional power companies and the like? Or is the roll out different than that?

    Thanks.

    Hello @Bob.,

We do not currently have a list of which billers are supported with the new provider. The article we have says that they intend to support more billers, but does not provide any timeframe or insights into which billers they will prioritize.

I forwarded the feedback and requests for more information to our teams.

Sorry I don't have more information to share currently!

Thanks @Quicken Kristina I'm not surprised. But disappointed. Another major change with little inclusion for the community of users. We can only hope it has been better tested than Fidelity.

Since its inevitable, and since I have my Mac install to fall back on, I shall try the update and see what I can see.

I just contacted premium telephone support with a half dozen issues regarding Bill Manager. I was told it was not being supported and is being replaced with a new system, and no further assistance was offered. The entire Bill Manager module has been a failure and pales in comparison to the system it replaced Bill Pay. It is next to unusable as it currently configured and although promised a replacement system in July 2025 and then missing that date, another promise for August 2025 and the month is almost over, stopped holding my breath a long time ago.

Quicken makes sure you pay for your subscription but doesn't support one of its core features and refuses to fix a broken system, providing you with unfulfilled promises. Given the past performance I have little hope for the replacement bill paying system. I have been using Quicken for more than 30 years, I now wish there was a good alternative program. Good competition would surely sink Quicken or help them value thier customers and prod them to do better.

    Hello @Hawaii6,

Thank you for sharing your experience. To help troubleshoot this, I checked our internal tools, and can see you're on version R63.21.

The good news is that we are transitioning to a new service provider. The bad news is that the new provider initially will not support as many billers as the old provider did, although they are working to increase the number of supported billers. For more information, please review this article:

If you would like to see if the new provider currently supports the billers that you're having issues with, then please backup your Quicken file and use this article to upgrade to version R64.19:

    I hope this helps!

FWIW, I did a small test payment to the three billers I care about most. All went well, I asked for the payment to be made on August 28 and the withdrawls from my checking account occurred then. Two of the billers credited my account on August 29 and the final one on August 30. So far so good. Of course, your mileage may vary.

I tried the new update R64 and was not pleased with the billers (lack of). Went back to R63, then said what the heck I'll go back to R64 and lack of billers and have decided to stick with it since I don't use autopay via Quicken. BUT now I'll even try that and see if works.

But I still can't figure out why Spectrum, Spire and Alabama Power are not part of the biller

I don't know if it is "biller refresh" or just the regular bill update (which doesn't seem to work anyway), something is moving my bill reminders a month in the future each time it is run. I have some bills currently due with the reminder now showing the next due date into 2026

@Kerry I have seen this a dozen times with Quicken bills BOTH in the future and past.

Th ONLY thing I know that works is to unlink, delete biller. Delete reminder. Add bill, link to a new reminder.

That sets it as if it is brand new. A pain, not a great solution. But necessary, in my opinion, because thorough regression testing on things like this just do not happen on new releases where something else was the focus of what to be fixed. You can try editing all instances and changing the date to the next accurate bill date, but that does not seem to work as consistently.

I have gone from 3 billers supported to none. All three are utilities.

It would be nice to see some 1) input from users on missing billers and 2) some kind of status report.

Florida Power & Light is no longer supported. My other utilities I put on auto pay with each. None of my credit card vendors who are supported are being updated as new bills are out. I even got emails from QUICKEN that I had new bills from 3 credit cards yet none of them are updated. They still show "awaiting next bill". Having been in the software industry 35 years ago I would say that little testing is done before these releases.

    "Little" might be being generous.

Glad to hear it is not just me getting no Biller Updates. In either Mac or Windows.

    1. Started after attempting to reconnect AMEX.( Deleted and added the biller again and deleted the the bill reminder and added it back in order to eliminate the future bills all show in the current due date.)
    2. All were previously functioning billers
    3. All billers either show awaiting next bill or reconnect
    4. Update ran as normal with nothing unusual.

I did get my first biller update since new biller today right on time! So the issue seems to be (for me) with Fidelity credit card or Fidelity and the new biller having issues.

No more bills to come until Oct 12.

So I just updated to latest Q for Windows and the notes show State Farm Insurance as a biller. BUT it does not find that as an online biller!!

Thank you for the update @Bob.,

I'm glad to hear the billers updated on time. You mentioned the Fidelity Credit Card hasn't updated yet. Is it showing an error, showing pending, or just showing that it's awaiting bill even though a bill should be available?

    @Phil H.,

Thank you for sharing your experience. To clarify, the screenshot you provided does show State Farm Insurance as an option. What is happening when you attempt to connect?

I look forward to your replies!

@Quicken Kristina Just showing awaiting next bill on both Mac and Windows. I had to pay manually.

More of interest in my Mac thread related to this and missing cleared payments.

I"m having all the same issues. I downgraded my update to be able to make this program function - minimally for me. I'm still paying for it, and the price keeps increasing. HOWEVER, I keep losing the benefit of the program. I went from most of my billers supported, to basically none. How is this an upgrade?

Not supported is Geico - MAJOR insurance company, AFLAC - major insurance company, Hulu, Netflix, AT&T, seriously? This needs to be free now. The latest update really broke everything.

@Quicken Kristina : When trying to add State Farm Insurance as a bill the system response is Bill not Found
