Vanguard cash plus

It seems that every time someone asks about the Vanguard Cash Plus account it gets closed with no answer. The system automatically configures it as a brokerage account.

It downloads when set up as direct connect to Vanguard but

every interest shows up as two line items
First it shows a payment/deposit of negative interest amount which takes the balance down by the interest amount, then it shows a line item of Interest Income for the positive amount interest.
Net result is zero interest in the total for the account

Deposits seem to show correctly as two line items but differently from interest line items
First you get Payment/deposit of the positive amount of the transfer or deposit

followed by line item for the exact amount.

I think that the positive interest line item should be reinvest:interest with equal shares to the interest amount and remove the payment/deposit negative line item.

The sum works out in this way and matches well with what is showing at Vanguard web site.

    Thanks for providing the detailed description of what you’re seeing with your Vanguard Cash Plus account. To better understand the behavior you’re reporting, could you please provide screenshots showing:

    1. The account register showing the interest line items.
    2. The splits or details of one of these interest transactions.
    3. The Portfolio or account balance view so we can see how the transactions are impacting the total.

    If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.

    These visuals will help us verify what’s happening with the interest postings and deposits.

    Hey @Quicken Anja , I'm having the same, or similar, issue as @ButchDeal . I get a net balance of zero.
