Fidelity NetBenefits totals are off

Quicken Classic version 8.3.2, macOS Tahoe 26.0.1

For the past several days, the totals in my NetBenefits holdings and overall have been off. I was prompted to reset the connection, which seems to have precipitated this (using Quicken Connect). I've dropped and recreated the account four or five times to no avail. How can I solve this?

I'm having the same issue - it's importing securities that I don't own seemingly in an attempt to match to things I do own.

It's been going on for several weeks, no update from Quicken. It's really frustrating, and I don't know how to fix it because the incorrectly imported transactions are being imported at different dates. And now the shares of the funds I do own are incorrect.

Also, I now have a negative cash amount showing in my Portfolio list. What is that?

    Hello @aardvarker & @bethwr,

Thank you for reaching out! Which holdings are incorrect?

There is a known issue with money market funds/cash representation. If you are being impacted by that issue, I recommend following these instructions from our Community Alert on the issue:

Customers whose cash balance is incorrect should perform a reconciliation with the online balance and enter an adjustment to correct the cash balance. From that point on, you will be good to go.

I look forward to your replies!

Above are the ones I own. When I download transactions in Quicken, it doubles my holdings to show the below:

@bethwr Have you tried Merging the duplicate securities? Many users have reported that this has resolved their issues.

I performed the cash reconciliation. That gets me close but doesn't fix the issue. Each of the three securities I own (bond fund and target date funds) are showing balances in Quicken that are off from what I see when I log in to Fidelity. The difference amounts to about $40. I don't see how doing a reconciliation fixes that.

Also, when I update this account in the morning, it no longer displays changes from the day before (price day change and price day change %).

Actually, I now see the issue. The per-share price in Quicken is not current — it seems to be a day behind.

Thank you for the update @aardvarker,

I'm glad to hear that you found the issue. Is the per-share price consistently a day behind, or has it stopped updating completely?

If the updates are consistently lagging 1-2 days behind, please navigate to Help>Report a Problem and send a problem report with log files attached.

Good day. I have filed a problem report from my Quicken app.

The share price seems to be consistently one day behind.

    Is anyone looking into this?

Why does Fidelity NetBenefits no longer show up as one of the institutions we can connect to? It used to be that if I connected through NetBenefits for some of my accounts and Fidelity for the others, everything was correct. Now NetBenefits is gone, and my totals are incorrect.

@CPgrandma If I remember correctly you now set up your Net Benefits accounts via "Fidelity Investments" just like any other Fidelity account, they've consolidated everything into that.

Also, this is a Quicken Mac thread, if you have further questions about setting up Quicken Windows to access your Net Benefits accounts you'll get better advice by asking over in the Quicken Windows forum.

Currently my only way around this is to manually update the share price, which is a pain

Why does my Fidelity Net Benefits not update correctly since the recent Quicken update? How do I fix. It shows two accounts for every account and the balance is different for each?

    Hello @hlbrashe,

Thank you for reaching out! Based on your description of the issue, I suspect that when you reauthorized your accounts, they got added as new instead of linked to the existing accounts. That would explain why you see two of each account.

To troubleshoot this issue, first, I recommend that you backup your Quicken file. Then, take a look at your accounts; if you have duplicates, the duplicate account will typically have less history than the original accounts, and won't have any manual changes you would have made in the original accounts. Delete any duplicate accounts you find.

Once you have removed any duplicate accounts, deactivate your Fidelity NetBenefits accounts. Then, reconnect them by navigating to Accounts>Add Account… and following the prompts. Once you get to the Add/Link screen, make sure to link the accounts to the correct existing account in Quicken.

    I hope this helps!

@Quicken Kristina Has there been any update on this? I'm still having to manually update NetBenefits prices.

    Thank you for the follow-up,

I'm not seeing any updates yet.

You mentioned you're manually updating the prices. Are the updated prices not downloading at all, or are they just arriving too slowly to be useful?

    Thank you!

    @Quicken Kristina

The behavior is intermittent. This morning I had to manually update the prices after several days of the prices updating properly.

    Thank you for your reply,

Does this behavior seem to happen most often around the weekend and Federal holidays?

Hi, @Quicken Kristina — there is no pattern that I can detect, and this is frustrating. This morning, for example, the share prices of my holdings updated with yesterday's activity. But the number of shares I hold did not update.

  • Quicken Kristina
Quicken Kristina Quicken Windows Subscription Moderator mod

    Thank you for the update,

When you say that the prices updated with yesterday's activity, do you mean that they are reflecting on the wrong day, or they show for the correct day, but delayed?

    Thank you!

    @Quicken Kristina
What I meant in that instance was that as of 6 a.m. the prices accurately reflected the prior day's close. However, on other days when I check first thing in the morning, the prices do not reflect the prior day's close — they may reflect two days prior and thus were not updated.

    Thank you for your reply,

The word I got from our teams about this issue is that 1 day delay with the new connection type is normal. If you are encountering longer than 1 day delays that are explained by holidays or weekends, then please contact Quicken Support directly for further assistance.

    Thank you!
