Hello @Dabmills43,
Thank you for sharing your experience, and I am happy to help.
Can you provide some additional information so I can better assist you?
- When you say you thought you had set up a new account, were these the steps you took to add it to Quicken?
- Which financial institution is this account held with?
- Did you see any error message when adding this account?
Looking forward to your response.

Also, for a CD, which would have VERY few transactions (1 a month at likely most), why are you setting it up as a separate account rather than as an investment in a brokerage type account?
Setting up a CD as an account could lead to MANY, MANY accounts, most of which would be closed … instead of using an investment which would use 1 account with multiple investments … and be much easier to manage.
