No graphs is lame

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to make graphs … then I found several discussions on the forum that showed the functionality doesn't exist. Jacobs postings, as usual, were excellent, and he summarized the situation well across several threads. Basically: nada graphs.

My two cents is that just, as a scientist, I find it almost unfathomable that a complex spreadsheet program, like Quicken (for Mac) has no graphing capability. I mean I would think it is almost impossible to have a spreadsheet program that can't make graphs. (Tongue and cheek, I admit, sorry.) Which means to hear it is on a long list of things that an admittedly small team is working on and just hasn't gotten to yet … I'm frankly shocked. What is a spreadsheet without graphing capabilities? That still floors me.

Anyway, the purpose here was just to add my vote … and I know Jacobs will say this is the wrong place to get attention, so someone please send ups the chain. It's simple: how can we usefully use Quicken without graphs? (I know … export into excel … just seems lame.) It's almost worth switching to another program … maybe that will get their attention. (And I'm not referring to the the poor, overworked programmers … but to their supervisors who prioritize their work.)

Thanks,

Namir
