Payee Error in Downloads

Within the past few weeks, some transactions are in error in the register.

The Payee Column is showing my name, instead of the actual Payee. This is new; and only for a few transactions.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Which bank(s) are you having problems with?
Are you downloading using Quicken One Step Update (Update Accounts for Mac) or are you downloading and importing a QFX file?

Has the bank recently changed their website and/or downloading procedures?

    One Step Update.

USAA downloads for sure, but I may have seen it at other institutions also. Since I am having to manually correct the transactions, I no longer see the errors. I will watch and update here.

I don't recall any recent changes from the bank's website or downloads.

If you haven't done so already, I'd say it's time to contact Quicken Support on the phone during posted hours of operation (after the holidays) and request help. Let them do a screen share session with you to review the situation on your computer, to determine the nature of the problem and to figure out how to fix it.

Same issue—only with USAA. When I click on edit details, I can see the correct info ("appears on your statement as").

I'm having the same, and I was thinking it was multiple accounts, but you all are right that it's just USAA. Very annoying. Also, my Amex accounts keep disconnecting. Part of me thinks it's a miracle that this downloading functionality works at all, and the other part of me is annoyed that it doesn't work better since I have to pay for a subscription every year…

    Well, I contacted Quicken Support.

The response was for me to manually add rules for each payee that shows this transaction error. Well, there are just too many payees and too many transactions for me to spend my life fixing this bug.

This is a recent behavior within Quicken in downloading transactions from USAA. It needs to be addressed by Quicken. Is there an actual Quicken support person on here that can report the issue for resolution? The offshore tech support person I reached via phone wasn't very helpful or very interested in reporting/escalating the issue…

Click on one of your transactions and open View > Show Inspector. Look at the bottom of the inspector window for "Statement Payee". This is exactly what was in the download file from the financial institution, before Quicken did anything with it. If it is showing your name instead of the actual payee here, then the problem is definitively at the USAA end. So you might want to try contacting USAA about this problem. You could also try again with Quicken Support, getting the representative to do a screen share so you can demonstrate the issue with USAA downloads and asking them to escalate it to their connectivity team to reach out to USAA.
