Merrill Lynch Transaction Download Missing Some Details
I see there have been issues since the BoA download changeover back in July 2025 and have been discussed in the community pages. My particular issue is the dropping of expense info dealing with the ML brokerage "Advisory Program Fee / Refund" posting. It went from clearly stating this verbiage as a payment/deposit to presently displaying a miscellaneous expense type transaction and no security/payee information. Is this problem with still being escalated internally at Quicken and address with BoA Merrill Lynch ? Is there a particular department to contact at the brokerage? It appears, in my search, all discussions are closed. Any workarounds for now?

Hello @Loganrun,
Thank you for providing the details about your Merrill Lynch account transactions. To help us better understand the issue and provide guidance, could you please share screenshots showing:
- How the transaction appears in Quicken (the one showing as a miscellaneous expense).
- How the transaction appears on Merrill Lynch/BoA’s website (the original posting with the Advisory Program Fee / Refund details).
This will help us see exactly what information is being dropped during the download and better advise on potential workarounds.
If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.
Thank you!

Here is a sample of how the downloads looked like before the BOA transition in Aug.

@Loganrun Thanks for providing the screenshots—that’s very helpful for context. From what we’re seeing, it looks like the issue may be originating from how Merrill Lynch/BoA is sending the transaction data, rather than Quicken misinterpreting it.
The next step I recommend is contacting Quicken Support directly so they can collect your log files for further review, verify exactly what information is being sent, identify whether anything is being dropped during the download, and escalate further if needed.
Thank you!
