Is anyone having a problem with direct connect for a Elan Fidelity Visa card
I can download transactions direct from Fidelity/Elan site without an issue. When I go to direct connect I get error CC-501. This has been going on since the new authorization requirement. I have authorized Quicken and my investment account doesn't have this issue, just my credit card. I have a VPN and tried disconnecting that too and also tried deactivating and nothing works.

I access the credit card via the Elan FI and not the Fidelity FI. I have never used DC for Elan. It has always been EWC for me, which is working.
As a test, I added my Elan card via Fidelity FI to a test datafile. It successfully added and downloaded transactions using EWC+.

Fidelity discontinued support for Direct Connect back in October and they no longer have a separate website for their credit card. Fidelity now supports only Express Web Connect+, instead, with the Fidelity Investments financial institution and this is the FI for use with investment accounts and the credit card.
In order to add Fidelity's credit card to the Fidelity Investments download connection you will first need to deactivate all of the other accounts that are already connected to Fidelity Investments. Then go to Tools > Add Account > select Fidelity Investments > follow the prompts to reauthorize all of the Fidelity accounts (including the credit card) making sure to LINK each of the downloaded accounts to the correct account already in Quicken….if the credit card is not already in Quicken then you will need to ADD that one.
If you are not comfortable deactivating your investment accounts In this case, I agree with @leishirsute that you might want to try downloading your Fidelity visa card from Elan Financial Services (the issuer of the card), instead. It does work well and the transactions will often download from Elan a day earlier than they will download from Fidelity. If you decide to do this you will need to first set up an online account with Elan.

@Boatnmaniac When I added the Fidelity Visa Credit Card to my test datafile, I did not deactivate connections of the other Fidelity accounts. I just added the Credit Card account.

Interesting. Ever since they cut in EWC+ I have had to deactivate all of my Fidelity accounts in order to add another Fidelity account (although I have had to add another account only 2 times in the last couple of months). Others have posted (one from just 2 days ago) saying the same thing. I wonder why some need to first deactivate all their accounts while others do not?

@Boatnmaniac I use the plus sign at the top of the Accounts bar to add or reconnect accounts. There shouldn't be any difference, but maybe?

Add Account is Add Account. The only difference is how it is accessed, not in functionality. At least, I am not aware of any functionality differences.
There are many other functions and features in Quicken that have multiple access methods, including Set Up Now, Account List, OSU, Signing out of Quicken, viewing connection method, viewing download date/time, etc.

For the last few days (today is 2/11/26), the transactions for my Fidelity Visa have not been downloading. Reset and disable/enable do not fix the problem. I'm using Express Web Connect+ and I connect through Fidelity, not Elan. Any thoughts?
UPDATE: just now, after a recent Quicken update, a reset downloaded all of my missing transactions. I'll post the results of my next one step update when I have new transactions to download.

Good news and not so good news. My Fid Visa Rewards transactions download fine with this account's Online Services' Financial Institution (FI) = Elan Financial Services and Connection Method = Express Web Connect. But Quicken Bills Dashboard has failed to populate with the amount due or statement for several months. Resets and disable-enable haven't helped. Since the transaction downloads work well, I'm hesitant to switch the FI from Elan to Fidelity Investments without confirmation it'll work better. I miss the Billing info.

So my next download didn't bring in my new transactions. I've switched to accessing through Elan Financial Services and successfully downloaded. Only time will tell

I'm glad that downloading transactions via Elan worked for you.

leishirsute and Boatnmaniac, thank you for your diplomatic insights and support on this subject and many other ones. Your reasoning and explanations helped me through quite a few hair-pulling challenges with Q Premier for several years.
Here, if I understand correctly, Fidelity Visa Rewards transactions download fine for you via Fidelity Investments' ECW+, albeit maybe a day behind downloads from Elan's Express Web Connect. Do the Bills and Income section also populate to show the Fid Visa statement balance via ECW+? It has not arrived for many months from Elan connection for me.

I am not sure to which section you are referring. I use the Elan connection and have not noticed any missing download data. I have also tried the Fidelity connection for the credit card and that has worked as well. Are you referring to Bill and Income Reminders? Are you using linked Reminders to Online Bills? I am not using that feature.

I am currently using the Fidelity Investments EWC+ connection for my Fidelity card. For some odd reason I have not been able to connect it to Elan for a couple of months…I keep getting a CC-503 error code. I also get the same CC-503 error code with Macy's Amex card and with a CU and all started about the same time. I've tried all the troubleshooting methods I know of an none of them them have worked. Even trying to set them up in a new data file resulted with the same error code. The Macy's card and the CU are not used much and I have the Fidelity option for the Visa CC so I haven't pursued fixing it with Quicken Support, yet. But that's something I'll probably end up doing before much longer.
Back to the Fidelity CC: It has been working quite well for me but there are 2 things that bug me a little.
- The ~1 day delay in getting transactions downloaded but I can live with that.
- It does not download pending transactions. I do not enable pending transactions to be entered into the registers (IMO there are too many issues with that process) but I do like to see pending transactions listed below the registers so them not being downloaded is disappointing.
Like @leishirsute I do not use the Online Bills feature.
Why not set up a new test file and add your Fidelity Visa card in it using the Fidelity Investments FI? You can keep the Elan connection going in your primary data file. Then you can compare the OSU results between the 2 files and you can see if you can get the Online Bills functionality you want.

Hello @SeaStar,
Thank you for reaching out!
Do the Bills and Income section also populate to show the Fid Visa statement balance via ECW+? It has not arrived for many months from Elan connection for me.
To answer your question, other customers reported that it is not working in both Quicken for Windows and Quicken for Mac. There are a couple of open tickets regarding issues with online billers. CTP-14949 is a more general ticket reporting multiple online billers not updating in Quicken. CTP-16096 is specific to Fidelity Visa not updating in Quicken.
If you would like me to add you to those tickets, please navigate to Help>Report a Problem and send a problem report with log files attached. If this is happening with billers other than Fidelity Visa, please let me know.
Thank you!

@Boatnmaniac The CC-503 error appears to be an ongoing issue and it appears to now affect accounts other than 529 accounts. There are several alerts in January for various CC-503 problems.

Thanks for this. The issues I am seeing with these FIs goes back several months preceding the date of the Alert. I wonder if there might be a common underlying cause. I'll have to determine soon when I might be able to address this with Quicken Support.

Using Tools> Manage Bill and Income Reminders > Bill and Income Reminders, my Fidelity Visa account is linked to Elan Financial Services. Individual Transactions download fine into account, but the Bill and Income Reminders (BIR) have not shown the monthly billing statement amount for many months. Bill and Income Reminders seems to populate the Bills & Income tab with Fidelity Visa account. It also shows Elan Financial Services. But, like BIR, the monthly billing statement amount fails to populate.
Good idea. I'll try to create test file and report if downloading from Fidelity instead of Elan adds monthly Statement amt due to Bill Reminders.
I submitted another problem report with logs about this today.
