Return to Franklin-Templeton ever?
Since the original discussion about this was closed, I'll remind Quicken support and users that I have an email from FT dated October 2, 2025 that says: "We're working on adding the download feature through the Quicken app. We estimate availability in mid-December, 2025. We appreciate the patience."
I tried to reconnect today, but FT is no longer available as a financial institution in the list (there are a couple with that name, but neither is the right one). So this begs the question: is there an update to Quicken from FT regarding this supposedly restored feature? If not, I'll have to contact them again to find out if there is a revised date or even worse.

If you have a connection there, please look into this. The person I spoke with at FT in Nov. had no idea what I was even talking about. The fact that they still offer a QFX transaction download, even though it won't import, might lead one to believe they still have some kind of a plan for Quicken imports in the future.
It would be nice to know one way or the other. I made it clear to them this is a deal breaker for me and I would be closing my accounts in the new year if not resolved.

No connection. I went on their website and submitted a question. What I quoted was from the email reply I received from their support team. I will be following up with them soon.

Hope this gets resolved. I forgot that I couldn't automatically download transactions from FT, so I missed some end of year transactions. Tried downloading a qfx file for posted transactions, but Quicken won't import it, giving an error "Quicken is currently unable to verify the financial institution information for this download. Please try again later."
Is this the typical problem people are getting trying to do a 2 step download from FT?

Hello All,
Thank you for letting us know you're encountering this issue. To help troubleshoot, I checked our FIDIR (list of supported financial institutions), and see that they are not listed. Since they are no longer listed in the FIDIR, that indicates that they decided not to support a connection with Quicken. I recommend that you contact the financial institution directly for further assistance.
Thank you!

Yeah auto downloads ended when they changed their website. The QFX 2 step download stopped working also about a month or 2 after that.

I ran into the same problem, too. It's on my list for next week to contact them again. I find it curious that they said the issue would be resolved mid-December, but it's still a problem.
As @Quicken Kristina confirmed, FT is no longer on the list of participating financial institutions. Frankly, I find it appalling that a major institution like Franklin would pull the plug on such a valuable feature. I called that "customer-surly" (instead of "customer-friendly.")

Hello all,
I emailed Franklin after my attempt to work with their support personnel failed (read: they don't know anything). Here was the response I received:
Watch this space for further developments.
@Quicken Kristina, please don't close this discussion until this is resolved. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing!
Discussions get closed after roughly 30 days of inactivity. To keep a discussion open, posting every 3 weeks or so will keep it from being dormant long enough to get closed.
I hope this helps!

Thanks. I should note that a QFX file cannot be imported because FT isn't listed as one of the supported financial institutions. I'm about to inform them of that.

I received this update from FT today:

@AZCoder1959 or anyone, any updates? Thanks.

I just reactivated my account today, and it works, but it changes your data tracking method to simple positions only. If that works for you, then you're all set.
I prefer to track complete position and transaction data, so that is a non-starter for me.
According to Quicken, Franklin Templeton only supports the simple positions downloads. If you want complete positions and transactions, you have to deactivate the online access and manually enter your transactions after changing the tracking method on the General tab of the 'Edit Account' window back to complete positions.
After deactivating the online access and changing the tracking method, I can see all my transactions as expected.
Looks like this is going to be a manual update account, at least for now.

@Laird B I have not received an update yet. I was going to give them until the end of the week before following up. When I have an update, I promise to post their response. Meanwhile, if what discovered works for you, then you're set. I, for one, won't be satisfied until the functionality returns to what it was.
Side note (as a tech guy): these interfaces seem to break quite often. They're mostly temporary, but sometimes, like this one, takes a lot longer than could reasonably be expected. Was this because of a server update that went south or something less straightforward? We users will never know, of course, but it would be nice if someone could explain it.

Web connect QFX imports still not working. I agree simple positions only is a non-starter for me too.

Oooof — very much no. Simple positions is unacceptable.
As a former tech guy: it's large-system-decay aka big-ball-of-mud aka brittle. At some point, unless the architecture is clean, it becomes challenging to adjust anything without breaking something else.
(United is doing a system cutover to shed brittle legacy code this morning; they cancelled over 600 flights just to make sure they had nothing affected in the air during the cutover.)1 -

User-hostile vs. user-friendly. Yeah.0
