Frequently Quicken previous balance is $5.00 off from statement previous balance. Has anyone else experienced this? what causes it? How can I prevent it?

If you're talking about the "Prior Balance" in a Reconciliation, it's the sum of ALL transactions in an account (including prior and future transactions) that have an "R" in the CLR field.

SO, if you're manually changing a CLR value in the account, if you're adding or deleting transactions that have the "R", or if you're deleting one side of a transfer that and the other side has the "R" … the the Prior Balance of the impacted account will be impacted.

Also, if you're using QWeb or QMobile, the transactions downloaded from there can sometimes cause a newly downloaded transaction to overwrite a previously recorded one … and thus change the "R"
