Reconciling an investment account [Edited]

To reconcile an investment account has a new problem. When clicking in the check mark in the CLR column, Quicken often processes the click on the underlying register window not on the popup reconciliation window. It's sometimes necessary to move the reconcile window so that the check mark you want to click is over a different part of the underlying main account register. In other words Quicken has a loss of window focus of where the click is supposed to be active.

I've had this over the last month (Quicken windows classic) Anyone else see this?

    Hello @jkl1,

Thank you for letting us know you're seeing this issue. To help troubleshoot, please provide more information:

    • Is this happening in one investment account, or multiple?
    • Is the problem account updated manually?
      • If not, which financial institution is it connected to?
    • Does the problem account have a linked checking account in Quicken?
    • What are you seeing happening in the register when you click to check/uncheck in the reconcile window?

I look forward to your reply!

Hello Kristina, The loss of focus issue I mentioned happens in my Merrill lynch accounts. The managed accounts which have many transactions are usually the problem. When clicking the check mark, the screen flickers a couple of times and then the register appears on the full screen and the reconciling window is minimized at the bottom.

    Thank you for your reply,

You mentioned that the managed accounts are usually the problem. Does that mean this is an intermittent issue?

About how frequently does this occur?

When did you first notice this issue?

Are these accounts connected to Merrill Lynch, or do you update them manually?

    Thank you!

@jkl1 I am trying to replicate this problem in R66.23 but I do not see it.

What is displayed behind the Reconcile window that is affected when you click on the "Clr" checkbox, and what happens? Does the window behind get the focus and hide the Reconcile window? Does it select something there? Which Clr column in the Reconcile window is it, the Increases or the Decreases?

Is there anything unusual about your setup - multiple monitors or something?
