After Merrill Reauthorization 3/2/26, "null" Advisory Fee Transactions
I was prompted to reauthorize my BOA and Merrill accounts. I was dead in the water with the 400 Bad Request error page. On 3/2/26, I was finally able to reauthorize by switching my default browser from Chrome to Edge.
But alas, the March Advisory Fee transactions, are downloading with "null" in them. This had happened after the EWC+ switch awhile ago and had been fixed, but now it's broken again.
Ugh.

I had the "null" advisory fee txns today too, but I don't think it was the reauth that caused it (I only reauthorized BOA, not ML). I think they came down in a pending state, and are not fully completed. I should have waited until tomorrow to accept an see if that would have fixed them but I was in a hurry and clicked accept before I realized what was going on. They should not have been download in this form.

Advisory Fee transactions with "NULL" descriptor in Payee field (when viewing in Transaction Edit Dialog still happening in April.

Yes, I still see this too, again for April.
I don't accept them, and I wait a day or two. On a later download, they magically change to "Advisory Program Fee", then I accept them.
Not a fix, but a workaround.

Please see this
Since I can't send a trouble report (tried multiple times) I'll post the data here and hope someone can make some since of it.
Merrill Lynch's April 2026 Advisory Program Fee for one of my IRAs was downloaded (via One Step Update) as Null transaction. Previous months' transactions were downloaded correctly (although initially after ML's transition to EWC+ these transactions were not downloaded correctly). Further the date was wrong on the downloaded transaction: 04/01/2026 when it should have been 04/02/2026. Also the transaction was still pending when the transaction was downloaded at about 08:00PM EST on 04/02/2026. In previous months the transaction was not downloaded while pending. See below for some screen shots. I believe that what caused the problem is either that the transaction was downloaded while still pending and/or how the transaction appears in the ML web site has changed and the EWC+ does not know how to handle it now.
I have corrected the transaction in my register but it needs to be downloaded correctly.
I think it would be kind of pointless to contact Quicken support since I won't see another such transaction for another month. On the other hand I have saved the log files. Could support be able to help with my inability to report the problem? Is there a way to provide them those log files outside of a problem report?
Thanks
Jim

Hello @jdparker225,
Thank you for letting us know you're also seeing this issue. I merged your post with the ongoing discussion. This is a known issue, reported in ticket CBT-1064.
It is possible to send logs without using the report a problem function by contacting Support and having a secure file link emailed to you. However, our teams do not currently need additional data to assist with the investigation.
Thank you!

@Quicken Kristina Interesting. I had no problem with the March transaction but did have a problem with the April transaction. I wonder why that is the case since others saw the problem in March? I have synclogs from both the March and April downloads showing the differences in the json transaction downloads for those two months' prorgam advisory fee transactions and I have screen shots showing that the March transaction looked different from the April transaction on the ML website which probably means it is different in the database. So, from the data I have, I can see a plausable explanation why it would work for me in March but not in April. Do different ML brokerages roll out changes at different times? Do they coordinate those changes with Quicken?
Thanks
Jim

@Quicken Kristina I was wrong about the transactions looking different in March than April. In one case I was looking at a set of transactions from one ML account and the other I was looking at a set of transactions from all of my ML accounts. So after the April transaction settled it looks like the March transaction. (I don't have shot of the March transaction when it was still pending.) The April transaction had trade date and settlement date of 04/02/2026 but was still pending at 08:00 PM EST on 04/02/2026 when I did my one step update. Since I have not made any use of Quicken's feature to download pending transactions, the transaction should not have been downloaded. What the transaction looked like on the ML website did change when it settled - the description changed from "Pending Fee" (one line) to "Advisory Program Fee INV. ADVISORY FEE APR" (in two lines). You can see that in the screen shots I posted.
I am aware that pending sales and purchases are downloaded but this kind of transaction should not be downloaded while pending.
Thanks
Jim
