Fidelity Investments - CC-506 Error - Posted 4/9/2026
This morning I successfully updated all my Fidelity accounts. This evening - seemingly out of the blue - Quicken and Fidelity are not playing nice. I am getting a CC-506 error.
NO - I did not close my accounts. NO - I did not change nicknames. NO - I did not change my password.
I DO NOT need a tutorial on how to deactivate and reactivate accounts. I know how to do this. I've got lots and lots of experience doing this with my Fidelity accounts.
What I would like to know, before I spend 2-3 hours fooling around with deactivating accounts, reactivating accounts, and other gyrations is if other users are experiencing this same issue or better yet "... this is a known issue, and the developers are researching the cause of the problem and there is no ETA..."

Yes, mine working as well this morning so obviously was a fidelity (possibly quicken) error. Transiently yesterday evening I couldn't log on to Fidelity via the web so I suspect the issue was on the Fidelity side. Glad they sorted it out.

I have been getting Error code 506 on 3 investment files that have Fidelity accounts. I have followed instructions multiple times I have talked to the PEEPS at Quicken and so far no solution. when deactivated and then reacitvated according to instructions the download is successful but the problem recurs when I try again knowing there are new transactions available. Appreciate any insight that Quicken Support has not yet given me.

I, just now, tried a download from Fidelity Investments into my 6 accounts with with them, 3 taxable & 4 IRA.
Nothing came in, except today's updated quotes, but I wasn't expecting anything since I had downloaded this morning.
BUT, there were no problems either. Which at least suggests that the problem may be particular to your file.
Did Q Support have you Validate your file? SuperValidate?

Try this...
Open Quicken.
Click on "Tools."
Click on "One Step Update." Enter you vault password and click the "Settings" button. The "One Step Update Setting" dialog box will open. Locate and UNSELECT "Fidelity Investments" (i.e., clear the check mark inside the little box) and click on "Apply" and then click "Close."
Close Quicken.
Reopen Quicken and run a one step update. At this point, you won't see the CC-506 error.
Close Quicken.
Reopen Quicken. Reopen the "One Step Update Setting" dialog box. Locate and select "Fidelity Investments" and click on "Apply" and then click "Close."
Close Quicken.
Reopen Quicken, cross your fingers, and run a one-step update.
