    Hi Quicken Laura,

Sadly I am not very computer literate, so I'm not sure what format is. I have both Windows and Chrome on this computer. I use Windows to try to download my Barclay credit card transactions.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi @marysday,

No problem. I can help you identify the file format.

Once the file has been downloaded from your bank, you can locate it in your File Explorer (Downloads folder):

    1. Open File Explorer Screenshot 2026-04-15 at 1.40.11 PM.png
    2. Go to the Downloads folder image.png
    3. Select the downloaded file and right-click on it
    4. Click Properties Screenshot 2026-04-15 at 1.44.30 PM.png
    5. Under the General tab, you’ll see the file type listed (for example, CSV, QFX, etc.) Screenshot 2026-04-15 at 1.45.43 PM.png

Please let me know what format you see, and I’ll be happy to guide you further.

    Hi Laura,

It comes up as System Folder or CRDOWNLOAD File (.crdownload) when using Windows.

When I use Chrome it's Quicken OFX data (.qfx)

    Does that make any sense?

    Hi @marysday,

Great, thank you; that’s exactly what I needed to know.

Below are the steps to import the file into Quicken:

Importing a QFX file into Quicken

    1. Back up your Quicken Data File.
    2. Go to the File menu and select File Import → Web Connect (.QFX) File. Screenshot 2026-04-16 at 2.32.29 PM.png
    3. Browse to where you have saved the QFX file and double click on it
    4. Click Open or double-click the file to import.
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Please feel free to reach out if you have additional questions!

    @marysday,

Apologies, I just realized the previous steps were incorrect. I’ve updated them. Please try again and let me know if it works for you this time.

    Laura,

I have a different dropdown for file. I tried file import web connect and Quicken transfer Format (QFX) file,

    Neither worked.

I'm giving up and entering all the transactions myself.

Hopefully by next month it will be corrected.

    Thanks for all your help.

    Mary
