How do I setup an annuity account?

I want to reduce the overall balance as monthly retirement distributions are received.

    There are two ways to set up an annuity account in Quicken for Mac.

    Here is how you can add the account:

    • Click the “+” sign in the upper-left corner to add an account.
    • Select Offline Accounts.

    • Choose the option that best fits how you want to manage your finances:
      • To track only the value of an annuity, use an Asset account. Screenshot 2026-04-18 at 3.18.26 PM.png
      • To track both value and performance, use an Investment account. Creating a new investment account will allow you to report on income, capital gains, and performance.
