can't update to v9 - downloads but won't install

looks like others have had this in the past … for me it's v9 (mac) — currently on Version 8.5.2 (Build 805.60133.100). Prompted to d/l and install v9, move through the prompts and it downloads … I click on install and relaunch and am immediately prompted to log in. Cycle repeats. Feels like install never starts. How to fix ???? (never had this before).

So went to my quicken page and downloaded it from there. Went to install and got "its installed do you want to open from applications" … guessed yes, and that set off a normal upgrade sequence which completed successfully. Was on a late 8.x build and Sequoia 15.7.5. Hope this isn't a new "feature!" 😎

@lindycorp There's a preference setting which sometimes gets out of whack, causing the upgrade installer to not complete; downloading a fresh copy directly from the link provided above, or from logging into your Quicken.com account and downloading from there, doesn't look at the version preference setting and just installs the new version. So no, this isn't the way things work going forward; it's simply a quick workaround should you ever encounter the problem where an update fails to complete installation.

You can still download from that page even if you have a subscription, just grab the most recent version.
