Can't remove/sell FDRXX (Money Market) position in one IRA account

I have Fidelity FDRXX (Money Market-Taxable) shares in an IRA account showing 66,957.21 at $1/share. I successfully sold FDRXX from two other smaller IRA accounts using Sell Shares, but this IRA won't budge.

When I try Sell Shares it says "maximum available shares is 0." Remove Shares accepts the transaction but the balance doesn't change. I tried Mutual Fund Conversion (FDRXX → Cash) and got this warning: "You are attempting to record a transaction on the same date as a Placeholder Transaction. Your share balance will not be affected." I tried entering different dates and got the same result.

There is no placeholder visible in the register despite Quicken referencing one in the error. Placeholders (0).

Is it possible Fidelity sync is generating an invisible placeholder? Has anyone dealt with an 'invisible placeholder' before? And is there a way to successfully convert or remove a money market position, especially in a Fidelity-linked account without these snags?

Thanks in advance,

Tyberius

    Hello @tyberius,

Thank you for letting us know you're seeing this issue. To help troubleshoot, please provide more information:

    • In the problem account, is FDRXX tracked as a holding or as cash?
      • If it is tracked as a holding, how many shares are in the account?
    • Is the account updated manually, or do the transactions download from the financial institution?
    • You mentioned that Remove Shares seems to work, but doesn't change the balance. Which balance are you referring to (cash balance, number of shares, etc.)?

I look forward to your response!
