Any Placeholder transactions in the investment account register?
[Edited: Rest of my post removed. It does not appear to apply. NotACPA seems to be on the right track with his response (above)]

You need to explain further. Because in both of your graphics, the sum of the # of shs in the lots depicted DOES add up to the total shares held in that security in that account, 434.86 shs and 51.45 shs respectively.Warren Cash said:Year 2019, Version R14.27, Build 27.1.14.27

These add to 1279, not 1715.

What is the header on that column that doesn't add. Because it would seem to be the Gain/Loss column ... and your message refers to "Share Lots" ... non Gain/Loss.Warren Cash said:

If fact, what's the column headers for ALL of your graphics?Q user since February, 1990. DOS Version 4

The heading is "Shares", i.e. the number of shares of that security held in the account. By the way, 1715 is the correct number.Warren Cash said:

All of the headings are: Name, Quote/Price, Price Day/Change, Shares0 -
OK, now we're getting somewhere.Warren Cash said:

Let's go back to UKR's striked out question. Are there any placeholders?
You can show placeholders by clicking, from the main menu, EDIT, Preferences, Investment Transactions, and then Checking "Show hidden transactions".
They'll show up in your register as having N/A is several places
Also, in the post where you 1st had graphics, I don't understand the difference between the 2 grapahics. What is each of them? Because the 2nd graphic appears to have 2 lots on 4/30/18 that entirely accounts for the difference.Q user since February, 1990. DOS Version 4

What is the heading of the column between Quote/Price and Price Day Change?Warren Cash said:

The second graphic of the 2 was from the preceding day (9/27). One of the 2 4/30 entries was a transfer from another account while the other was a purchase. They do not account for the disrepancy of 436 sharesWarren Cash said:

Have you tried Validating your Q data file? It's a 2 step process.Warren Cash said:
These add to 1279, not 1715.
1) FILE, File Operations, Copy. Leave all of the default settings alone, then using the Copy
2) FILE, File Operations, Validate and Repair ... being SURE to check both "Validate File" and "Rebuild Investing Lots" before you click OK.Q user since February, 1990. DOS Version 4

How about SuperValidating? Same process, still using the copy, but hold down CTRL and SHIFT until you see an indicator that it's SuperValidating (and not just regular validating).Warren Cash said:

Validation did it! Thanks a lot; should have thought of it myself but in 22 years of using Quicken h, have had to validate only once before.Warren Cash said:
