What do you mean "save a Checking Register copy"? Do you mean use the Save a Copy feature under the File menu? Or something else?

Did you recently upgrade macOS? If so, what version were you using before?

I'm not quite sure what you mean that you can't save a checking register copy? Do you mean you can't save a backup copy of your Quicken 2007 data file? Under Mojave, the automatic backup feature and Save A Copy feature don't work due to Apple's new file system. In Quicken 2007 Preferences, disable the automatic backups. Then, simply quit Quicken and make a manual copy of your data file in the Finder. If that's not what you're referring to, please post again to clarify. (And be aware that Quicken 2007 will not run at all under Apple's next update this fall; Mojave is the end of the line for this old piece of software.)

Though the probably is very high that this is true, as the announced objective by Apple is to stop support of 32-bit software, it is still not set in stone. Not until more final versions are published. Things have and can still change.

  • Using Quicken 2007 "File - Save A Copy...", with MacOS Mojave 10.14.3, unable to save a backup copy in Documents?

If the drive your QM2007 data is stored on is formatted as APFS, Apple's new drive format, which is most likely the case, then the Save A Copy feature does not work. It only works if your data is stored on an HFS+ (Mac OS Extended) formatted drive.

The alternative is to simply create a duplicate file using the Finder. If your goal is to use this feature to do some internal clean-up of the data file, you will have to find or create an HFS+ drive or partition for it to work.
