Can I install 2020 Premier without importing any data from my older version?

I have used Quicken for 15 years and would like fresh start. Can I download 2020 with the old version still on my computer or should I put the old data on a flash drive and wipe the computer clean? Thanks!

Bottom line is, the data is kept in a data file, not the Quicken program except for global information like your Quicken Id, recent file list, etc.If you want to start fresh, start a new file, File->New Quicken File and your old data is completely separate from your new data file and information.-splasher using Q since 1996 - Subscription - Win10
-also older versions as needed for testing

Let it do the import ... and then simply do FILE, New Quicken file. You'll end up with a nearly blank Q data file, with only Q's pre-defined categories created ... but no YOU data.

We may start a new data file at any time: select File > New Quicken File...0

Hi @""Jerry Quiring" ,
Simple. Move your old data to a Flash Drive or Thumb Drive.
Next, follow this procedure to install Quicken 2020, that is Quicken Subscription: https://community.quicken.com/discussion/7844658/installing-reinstalling-windows-quicken-subscription-editions
