Stock data conversion QW2004 to QW2016 or newer...

I have many years of stock data in QW2004. I would like to get this data into QW2016 or newer. I have read the help which says that this conversion is possible with the intermediate conversion via QW2013. Unfortunately, the help also indicates that this converted data should only be used as read-only reference. So how do I get my old stock data into a "new" QW2016 datafile for continued usage without having to manually enter all the old stock data again?

That is a CYA statement by Quicken. Lots of users have gone thru all of the conversions over the years and our data files work just fine. Mine goes back to 1996 and I have no issues with it.
-splasher using Q continuously since 1996
- Subscription Quicken - Win11 and QW2013 - Win11

And to be clear, QW2016 will read your QW2004 data directly...one step. QW2013 used to be needed IF there was a problem with your data file. No longer (at least theoretically).
