Thank you for the additional information.
You mentioned "the red dot in the upper left". The red dot on Mac computers only closes the window you're using and not the program itself.
To properly exit and close a program so it saves any new data you entered, you need to go up to the program title menu next to the Apple symbol on the upper-left of the Mac computer screen and choose "Quit" in the dropdown menu. So, to properly close and exit Quicken without forcing it you would need to go to--
Quicken > Quit Quicken (See below)
---
---
Please, keep in mind that if you have Quicken open in full screen-- the menu tabs at the top of your screen will become hidden and in order to access it again you will need to bring your cursor all the way up to the very top edge of your screen in order for it to drop down and show again.
Hope this helps!

@Quicken Anja I think you've missed what @Roncib is saying. When you click Edit Budget, Quicken opens a pane over the main window — and when the pane is open, the red dot for closing the main window behind it is, in fact, gone, as is shown here:
That's because the way to exit from the Edit Budget pane is to click either the Cancel or the Save button at the bottom right.
@Roncib, have you tried clicking either of those buttons, and if so, what happens?Quicken Mac Subscription • Quicken user since 19936 -
@jacobs oh okay, that is true, I didn't realize he was referring to the "edit budget" screen. My mistake, thank you for the correction.

Hello @Roncib,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community about your issue, though I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this.
First-- Could you please provide the version release of Quicken that you are running?- Quicken > About Quicken
- Try saving a backup file and then restoring that same saved backup file (See instructions in the above-linked article under "Quicken for Mac" and first review the blue dropdown section titled "Backup in Quicken for Mac", then the blue dropdown section titled "Restore an automatic backup").
- If the issue didn't start too long ago-- Try restoring a backup file from before this issue started (See instructions in the above-linked article under "Quicken for Mac" and open the blue dropdown section titled "Restore Quicken data").
Let us know how it goes and/or if you have any further questions!

I am using the new online version of Quicken Deluxe for Mac. Don't know when it started because I just bought this MAC, and transferred the data file from my Windows PC.
Since the old budget data did not come over from my old version, I tried to set up a new budget. Once the automatic budget loaded I tried to adjust it with better data.
As soon as I change data, the red dot in the upper left disappears & I cannot exit Quicken without forcing it, which means I LOOSE MY CHANGES0 -
