Problem with Category Descriptions Display in Registers

This morning I clicked on the top of the Category Description column in my check register and all of a sudden the description displayed changed from the normal descriptions to something like this:1F4EE058-D85D-4680-8533-6FD6CFD6A9E9. I can't find any way to revert back to normal display. Also, if I enter a new transaction when I get to the Category column and click on the down arrows a list of categories comes up as usual. but the list starts off with a list of descriptions similar to the one above. Also listed are some descriptions that are normal. Any help in fixing this problem greatly appreciated.

@ewrayjr I've seen this problem reported a number of times on this forum, but unfortunately, I've never seen anyone report a successful fix. You can read some of the other reports I've linked below to see if you can glean any helpful information, but I think you will likely need to revert to a backup copy of your data prior to this corruption occuring.

Hello @ewrayjr
Thank you for taking the time to visit the Community to report this issue to the Community.
Please navigate to Help > Report a Problem to report and report this issue via this form. This will help contribute to the investigation of the issue.
The issue seems to be data specific and has been difficult to reliably reproduce. While there have been several reports of this issue, an official bug ticket has not been opened.
I would recommend starting with restoring a backup, other users have reported this as being the best solution to this issue.
Please let me know if the behavior persists after restoring backup!
