How do I add a category to a transaction that includes an inter-account transfer?

I have an account set up in Quicken for our mortgage. When I make a mortgage payment, it's set up to automatically split between mortgage interest and a transfer to the mortgage account to reflect the principal payment. This principal amount does not show up in any spending category. Is there a way to categorize this amount while still accomplishing the transfer to the mortgage account.

A category either increases your net worth (Income cat) or decreases it (expense cat).A transfer does neither. It reduces the value of your checking account, but at the same time reduces the balance owed on your mortgage ... a net $0 to your net worth. You might want to look at the Cash Flow report to see if that's closer to what you want.
