Match manually does not show all transactions

Match manually does not show all unmatched transactions in an account. It does not show transactions that are more than a year old. The transactions do appear when balancing an account. Unfortunately, there is at least one US government department that takes more than a year or two to catch up on transactions it missed! Please fix.

I don't think we can fix what's broken in the US government.
    :-)
    Sorry, I just couldn't resist.

I can't speak for why "Match manually" does not show these transactions. Someone from Quicken would have to look into that.
Do you think you could show us an image of such a register transaction and the Match Manually dialog showing the issue?*
Personally, I would rather keep these long past due transactions in a separate Accounts Receivable account, to make reconciliation of the checking account easier. When you finally receive payment, record a transfer from your checking account to the A/R account, to zero out the balance.

    * Can you please capture one or more images of the parts of your Quicken window showing the issue, sensitive information blacked out as necessary to protect your privacy but annotated to describe the situation, and attach the image(s) here?

Please save images to files of file type PNG, JPG, or GIF only. They're easier to work with than PDF files.

I have already kludged around it, but I think it would be easy to recreate: Enter some debit transactions in a check register with dates about two years old. Then, using a downloaded transaction, try to match the new transaction manually. The pop-up window will not show transactions older than one year ago. However, if you attempt to reconcile, the "old" transactions will appear in that window.--I posted the item here because I thought it might be of interest to Quicken; perhaps it belonged elsewhere.

Actually I believe the current behavior is a "fix" for another problem with manual match.

In the past it would match any timeframe, and given that some people were prone deleting downloaded transactions an leaving the manually entered ones and things like that, they would build up really long manual entry lists.  And give that there isn't a good system for maintaining that list (as in removing entries in bulk and even the "hidden" method of removing one broken at times) it has been noted that manual match now trims the list based on the date.  At the moment I don't know exactly what that date range is, but I sort of remember it to being something like 90 days.

I just checked the cutoff is exactly 1 year, so I was wrong about the 90 days, but pretty sure of the reason for it being cutoff.
