Why does it has to be so hard to read?

Why does everything in the Budgeting area have to be hard to read unless one is 20 something with great eyesight? I realize this might come as a surprise to some people, but as we age somethings change and eyesight is one of them. Light gray type against a white background isn't easy to read. And the 1 month budget is just awful. Who ever designed that should be ashamed, Plus, why can't we choose how deep into subcategories we want. Sometimes I want a lot of detail, even 3 levels down, sometimes I just want 1 or 2 levels down. Yes, I know that I can just click on the arrows, but why can't I specify whether to include that level down each time I open up?
