my investment account switched financial institutions. Can I change the financial institution to download from the new institution into the same account? Or do I have to start a new account for the new institution?

Hello @rjlove925,
Thank you for contacting the Quicken Community with this question.
Before I can further assist you, I require some more information. Is the account still the same and the financial institution got bought out (such as a name change)? Or, is this account with a new financial institution and the old financial institution still exists?
Looking forward to hearing your response.

@rjlove925 The easiest way to do this is:
- Take a backup (just in case)
- Disconnect the account from download
- Remove the old FI name and account number
- Make sure that you have web connectivity to the new brokerage
- Connect the account to the new brokerage.
The theory here is that it's all the same account to you, only the brokerage changed. Thus there's really no need to create a whole new account in Q.Q user since February, 1990. DOS Version 4
