my investment account switched financial institutions. Can I change the financial institution to download from the new institution into the same account? Or do I have to start a new account for the new institution?

    Hello @rjlove925,

Thank you for contacting the Quicken Community with this question.

Before I can further assist you, I require some more information. Is the account still the same and the financial institution got bought out (such as a name change)? Or, is this account with a new financial institution and the old financial institution still exists?

Looking forward to hearing your response.

@rjlove925 The easiest way to do this is:
    1. Take a backup (just in case)
    2. Disconnect the account from download
    3. Remove the old FI name and account number
    4. Make sure that you have web connectivity to the new brokerage
    5. Connect the account  to the new brokerage.
The theory here is that it's all the same account to you,  only the brokerage changed.  Thus there's really no need to create a whole new account in Q.
