is there any way to turn off the little popup that has started appearing whenever I do something to the date field in a register? I find it annoying. This behavior just started happening a couple of days ago.

    Hello @JC4576,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community and telling us about your issue, though I apologize that you are experiencing this.

In order to better assist you further, could you please elaborate and provide additional details about the pop-up you are receiving? What is the pop-up asking or prompting for?

It may be helpful to provide a screenshot. If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.

    Thank you!

Thanks for getting back to me... here is the screenshot
What I'm talking about is the obscuring little white rectangle that contains "10th 100 10"... this is appearing whenever I am near the date column of a register and I am finding it very annoying. The screen shot shows the rectangle on top of a register.. a couple of other register entries can be seen.

I am just setting up this new machine and I'm wondering if what I'm seeing has something to do with the Windows 11 setup

    Thank you for the screenshot!

I've attempted to replicate this issue but was not able to reproduce the box you are seeing.

To start with, I suggest that you please try validating and/or super validating your data file. However, I do recommend that you first save a backup file prior to performing these steps.

    Validate
    1. File
    2. Validate and Repair File...
    3. Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.
If the issue persists, proceed to Super Validate. If the issue is resolved after performing validation, then please disregard the instructions to Super Validate.

    Super Validate:
    1. File
    2. Hold CTRL + Shift and click Validate and Repair File...
    3. Super Validate File
    4. Click OK
    5. Close the Data Log
    6. Close Quicken (leave it closed for at least 5 secs)
    7. Reopen Quicken and see if the issue persists.

    I hope this helps!

Thanks for looking at this..it was the setting in Windows that was causing this pop-up. As I said, I'm setting up a new PC and hadn't seen that pop-up before, but after starting to work with some other apps I saw it there too. I don't think I would have consciously selected that option while I was installing Windows 11 on the new machine, but I sure hope that setting isn't the default. Unchecking the "show text suggestions" box resolved my issue.

Happy to have been able to help.
P.S.: You may want to widen the Date column in your registers just a little bit, so it's wide enough to display the entire date and the little calendar icon without overlapping the pieces.
